Brainspotting was developed by David Grand in 2003. It works by identifying areas in your brain where emotional tension and trauma are stored. By focusing on specific eye positionsโcalled brainspotsโand paying attention to your body, we can allow your nervous system to release deeply held tension and blocked emotions.
It is body-oriented: your sensations guide the work.
It is mostly non-verbal: much of the healing happens without words.
It can be used alongside other therapy sessions, like individual sessions that include focusing, creative explorations and bioenergetics.

Unlike talk therapy alone, Brainspotting works deeply with the connection between body and mind, helping your brain access its natural ability to heal itself.
