🌟 BIG NEWS!!! 🌟

I’ve got something EXCITING to share!!

I’ve had a little makeover (not a facial or anything 😂)…..

A fresh new business name!! Whoop whoop!!

Why?

Well, after 12 years of the old name, I’ve realised what women need is so much more than “HypnoBirthing” (*GASP!!)

“HypnoBirthing” stopped growing while I continued and I now know women need MORE…they need support and education that is realistic and inclusive…

I’ll explain more soon…but know I’m still here, it’s still me, but now it’s a fresh start to something beautiful that I feel proud to offer to pregnant people all around the world 💗

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey with me!!

Stayed tuned for more exciting updates 😁💕

Warm, cosy hot chocolate!!

Perfect for when my kids cycle home from school in the rain.

Perfect for recovery after birth 🥰

Why hot chocolate? Well cacao is packed with magnesium which helps calm your nervous system and release endorphins and serotonin- your feel-good hormones.

This hot chocolate recipe contains healthy fats too to give you extra energy and support hormone balance - perfect for breastfeeding!

Ingredients:

2 cups (500ml) of your favourite milk
3 tablespoon of cacao
1/4 or 1/2 chilli powder (if you like spice)
1 tablespoon cornmeal or cornflour
Honey, sugar or maple syrup

How to prepare: warm the milk in a saucepan, add all the ingredients and whisk until smooth

Voila! Cosy, warm hot chocolate!

Now snuggle up with your favourite blankets and your baby and ENJOY ❤️

🌸 autonomy in birth 🌸

It starts with asking questions so you can make informed decisions 🙌

Daisy recently had an appointment at the hospital about a spot on her cheek. She sat down and made a list of all the questions she wanted to ask the doctor 👍

During her appointment, Daisy asked her questions loud and clear and with confidence. The doctor was amazing and answered Daisy’s questions and asked Daisy about HER preferences

THIS is what informed decision making looks like, using your autonomy and taking control 🔥

(I’m super proud of 9 year old little Daisy Doo)

Autonomy in birth is about having and knowing the options and having the freedom and support to make informed decisions 💕

❤️ A cosy little home ❤️

Ever wondered what your baby’s amniotic membranes look like?

Well, here’s a beautiful clear photo of a complete placenta with membranes and umbilical cord attached. What a beauty! 🥰

Here are some interesting facts:

👉 the membranes are stretchy and strong and keep your baby safe and surrounded by amniotic fluid

👉the membranes (sac) is made from layers of tissue, mainly consisting of collagen fibers

👉 the membranes are attached to the placenta and completely surround your baby

👉 at some point during labour, the membranes might weaken and with the added pressure from your baby and your contractions, the membranes might release (break)

👉 sometimes the membranes don’t release during labour and your baby might be born inside the intact sac of membranes. This is called “en-caul”

👉 artificial rupture of membranes (AROM) is where your midwife or doctor breaks your membranes for you, either to start or speed up your birth

And another AMAZING FACT:

🔥 membranes contain stem cells, growth factors and collagen which are being used for reconstructive surgery! 🔥

Daisy was nearly born inside her membranes! In some cultures it’s thought to bring good luck.

Was your baby born en-caul?

Like & share! 💗

What the?!?

I pulled back my duvet on my bed and found THIS freaky thing lying in it 😳

Sneaky Daisy! She built a woman with her mannequin girls head, a cushion for her body, socks for arms and sharks for legs 😂

It scared the s**t out of me 😂

This made me blush ☺️

🎵 Let's talk about s*x baby 🎵

We don't talk about it enough - not during prenatal appointments & it's not a conversation for Sunday lunch with your in-laws 😂

A client recently asked me "when is the right time?"

When, how & if you have s*x after birth is personal to you: if you're a relationship or not, lack of sleep, the type of birth you had, your hormones, s*x drive, co-sleeping with your baby, 6 week bleed after birth, healing perineum, c-section scar..

What's normal for your friend, might not feel right for you & that's OK. You might feel ready literally days after birth, or you might not feel ready even months or years after birth

💕 Listen to your mind & body. You have been through an IMMENSE change. Your body has changed (you might still be healing, your breasts might hurt), your view of your body might have changed. You might be in awe of what your body has achieved, or you might not recognise it any more & feel negatively

💕 Breastfeeding your baby can be awesome: the closeness & connection. Swapping from breastfeeding your baby one minute, to getting jiggy with your partner the next, might not feel comfortable for some people, while others feel ok with this shared intimacy

💕 The release of oxytocin during love-making can cause leaky breasts, you might even feel the let-down

💕 The 6 week bleed (lochia), means that where the placenta was attached to your uterus is still open & healing. There might be an increased risk of infection during in*******se

💕 You might have stitches in your perineum, or trauma to your vaginal, so you might want to wait for that to heal. Go slowly, you might feel nervous the first time you have in*******se

💕 Lack of sleep can leave you exhausted. S*x might be the last thing on your mind. You might just want to hug

💕 It's a myth that you can't get pregnant while breastfeeding. You can, even if your periods haven't returned yet

There's no right or wrong way, do what feels right for you. If you're not ready for in*******se, there are other things you can do. Having an or**sm can be a huge release, so consider ma********on. If you have a partner, talk, be open & honest. There's no rush, take your time ❤️
