Since 1972, Dr. de Weerd has specialised himself in the medical requirements and complete guidance of the owners and trainers of racing pigeons. Eight specialists are employed at his clinic in Breda. Every day pigeon fanciers from around the world are advised by telephone, fax or e-mail and their many problems solved. Many famous fanciers consult Dr. de Weerd at his clinic about therapies, prevention of diseases, techniques in the sport, loft construction and design, breeding programmes, advice on feeding, maintenance of top condition etc. Over 50.000 regular customers place their trust in the professional skills and the know how of “Pigeonclinic Breda”. As a young boy Dr. de Weerd visited many top lofts in Belgium and Holland with his famous father Piet de Weerd. Subsequently they visited Germany, the U.S.A., Canada, U.K., Mexico, Thailand, Taiwan, Polen, Spain, Portugal, Japan, China, etc. Thousands of fanciers have attended the lectures given by Piet de Weerd and his son Dr. de Weerd on topics such as selection and pigeon diseases. The products of Belgica de Weerd are all developed by the company, doing its own research and are of course free of any kind of doping. Each product is field-tested in real race competition by top fanciers before Belgica de Weerdintroduced it. Today the products of Belgica de Weerd are used with enormous success in more than 25 countries. More than 70 % of the top fanciers in The Netherlands use the “Success-programme” of Belgica de Weerd. They are more than pleased with their results.

🔥 What a finish! 🔥The last race of the 2025 season couldn’t have ended better for Team de Weerd (Breda). Out of the entire competition, they claimed the first 4 places 🏆🏆🏆🏆 – pure domination!But that’s not all… Team de Weerd on the sector level (SW), with 4666 pigeons competing, Team de Weerd were again 1, 2, 3, 4 – and placed 34 pigeons in the Top 100! 🔥An unforgettable performance to close the season – congratulations Team de Weerd on showing once again what true class in pigeon racing looks like! 👏

🚀 What a weekend for Team de Weerd! 🚀

From the Morlincourt–Noyon race (30.08.2025, Afdeling 2), Team de Weerd once again proved their class among 398 fanciers and 6,888 pigeons in competition.

🏆 Multiple TOP 10 positions, including:
• 2nd place
• 3rd place
• 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th … and the list goes on!

With consistency across the board and an incredible team effort, Team de Weerd dominated the race, showing why they are among the very best in the sport. 💪🕊️

Great Start to the Season!

The first training race of the year is in the books, and Team de Weerd is off to a flying start!
With an impressive performance from our pigeons, we secured 1st place and many top positions in today’s race from Bierges (05.04.2025), Afdeling 2 Rayon 3.

A strong beginning that gives us confidence for the season ahead.

Visit of the German Pigeon Club from Geseke to our Clinic and Loft!

On Saturday, March 22nd, we had the pleasure of welcoming 35 passionate pigeon fanciers from the German pigeon club in Geseke to our veterinary clinic and pigeon hospital in Breda. The guests arrived by bus and were warmly greeted by Dr. Henk de Weerd and his team.

After a welcome coffee, they were given a guided tour of the clinic and pigeon hospital, where we shared insights into our work and approach to pigeon health. We then visited Dr. de Weerd’s racing and breeding lofts, where we provided valuable information on training, feeding, and medical guidance. Our simple yet effective vaccination program was also discussed, sparking great interest among our guests.

After a few hours filled with knowledge-sharing and engaging discussions, the group departed back to Germany. It was a fantastic and educational day that we will all remember!
