A project update of this inspiring story of HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. We are pround of our collaboration with their students and researcher-lecturers on an innovation that can change lives: smart insoles that alert users when something is wrong inside the shoe.

25% of the people with cause hard-to-heal wounds under their feet. This significantly impact their daily lives. Walking, cycling, driving - all become challenging. This can lead to a loss of independence and even loneliness.

With these smart insoles, we aim to prevent such wounds, allowing these individuals to fully participate in life. Additionally, this innovation helps ease the burden on healthcare. Together, we’re making a difference!

Buchrnhornen started in the 1950s as a shoe repair shop and quickly evolved into a multidisciplinary company. At their Foot and Movement Center, various fields in the industry come together with a team of 140 professionals.

Buchrnhornen has years of experience with 3D printing using Blackbelt 3D printers, the predecessor of the PodoPrinter. To meet the current needs, the step has been made towards greater efficiency with the installation of the MODULA from SOLE by PodoPrinter.

This collaboration is bound to be successful, thanks to the experience and enthusiasm of the team, including Anneke van Loon & Laurens van der Velden. 😀 ⤵️

Did you know a full marathon has an average of more than 40.000 steps?
🏃‍♂️ The ASML Marathon Eindhoven starts this weekend.

SOLE by PodoPrinter was one of the four companies selected to support the runners with our innovations during the Sports Innovation Challenge of the municipality of Eindhoven.We tested our 3D printed custom insoles.
The foaming material makes the insoles super lightweight and with 3D printing you can specify different hardnesses very precisely for optimal cushioning and energy return, which improves performance and reduces injuries.
All together including the training year prior to the marathon the test group of 15+ runners have taken more than 1 million steps !! So also our insoles have made a marathon of endurance!
