Very happy to announce the possibility of a student discount at Yoga Hathi!
From today, as a student, you'll get 15% off a class pass or 20% off a six-monthly advance payment on presentation of your student card.

About the accompanying photo: I wanted to illustrate the announcement with a photo of me as a student. Very difficult to find! Then I realized this work (one part of a diptych called 'S*x met Petri', hanging in my meditation room) is from my final exam exhibition. Plus, it has me in it 🙌 success!!!

Still making progress!
From this morning we have our name on the doors. Still needs a paint job but I'm trying to enjoy the beauty we accomplish instead of going down the abyss of things-that-need--to-be-done (guarded by a demon named Perfection).
Tonight there's the Spicy Hatha (I'm thinking Dolly?!), followed by Radical Relaxation. After that, we take two days off.

View of the new studio.
In the back, where the light shines so beautifully, is where we do the asanas. And where the massages take place. Because of the plants, you'll be invisible from outside (and my massages are over clothes).
In the front on the left is the cozy corner, where we can chill. On the right is my 'bar', as .tsat calls it 😆 where I serve water and (herbal) tea after classes.
We're still working on several details, but the overall atmosphere is manifesting clearly.

Class takeover.
On Wednesday mornings I bring Nina to class. She's very quiet and calm. Sometimes she goes over to someone to sniff or get a cuddle, but only when I know the person doesn't mind, of course.
In the photo you see a classical example of "opgestaan is plaats vergaan"...

It's crazy. I feel crazy. I'm going and going and going.
It's going to be amazing!
We're working round the clock to get the new studio ready for classes. I have help every day! The owner and the guys that work for him are also doing a great job.
I'm doing things I've never done before. I learn. I feel strong, even though it's an awful lot. It's an awesome lot!
Today I made the kitchen. And a part of the feet-washing-station, but it didn't turn out right...

This Sunday, there’s another massage workshop where I’ll share some of my secrets with you.
In a fun and interactive way, you’ll learn how to massage head, neck, shoulders and a part of the upper back with clear and simple techniques from Thai massage.
We'll practice directly on each other. You can register with or without a partner, everything will work out on the day itself. And you’ll get an info sheet to take home, for future reference.
The workshop will take about 2 hours, if we have a bit of extra time at the end I’ll share some tips about massaging with oil.
Sometimes a friend complains about neck pain, or your partner comes home from work with pain in the shoulders… You'd like to massage, but you don't really know what to do. After this workshop you will!
The workshop costs €28 p.p. and is in English if necessary. Location: Yoga Hathi studio. When: this Sunday 19 January from 12:00-14:00. Still a few places available.

We start at 18:30 and will end around 21:00.
Everyone who likes a yoga challenge is welcome. You can request an asana or a subject you'd like to work on. A short satsang (Q&A session on philosophy) is also possible at the end 🙏

Virabhadrasana in India, 12 years ago. Warrior pose builds strength and is very grounding, it sets Muladhara (chakra one) in motion. In my classes, we focus on a different chakra each week, last week was Muladhara's turn. It's a lot of legwork, strengthening and stretching the front as well as the back of the legs. With attention to the feet. Important stuff 😉

Sometimes your partner comes home from work with pain in the shoulders or a friend complains about neck pain. You'd like to massage, but you don't really know what to do. Feels familiar?
In this short workshop I share some of my secrets with you!

We start with some exercises to loosen up our own shoulders and neck.
Then I'll teach you a few simple techniques and moves from Thai massage, so that you can give a short but nice massage. This is done over the clothes, so they're kept on.
We conclude with tips and tricks about using oil.

There will be some theory, but we'll practice directly on each other. You can register with or without a partner, that will definitely work out on the day itself.

The workshop lasts 2 hours, costs €28 and is in English if necessary.
You'll get an info sheet with the practiced techniques to take home.
