These past weeks have given me time to reflect on the path I have been walking, the one I am on now, and the future part of my path. πŸ™πŸ˜ŠπŸŒΊπŸŒ»
This summer, my yoga studio, Nagabandhu Yoga, celebrated its 7th birthday! πŸ™πŸ€—πŸŒΊ A special number for me. πŸ™ Seven, the number of transition. πŸ™πŸ˜Œ
Seven years ago, when I took a sabbatical and lived in Ireland for a while, I found my first teacher at Himalaya Yoga Valley. She inspired me onto the path of yoga. I found my Teacher Training Yoga teachers at the Arhanta Ashram in the Netherlands. πŸŒΊπŸŒ»πŸ™ I am always so intrigued that at the right time and right place, your teacher finds you, or you find your teacher. A time well spent at the Ashram, submerging in the yoga lifestyle, day and night. πŸ™πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ˜Œ A time that changed my life for good. πŸ™πŸ¦‹
Seeing the world differently, feeling the world differently, and getting a little step closer to unraveling the secrets of life and being me. πŸ’—πŸ™ Starting my first studio in my apartment in Rotterdam, I gained a small but steady group of yoginis who came to my weekly classes. πŸ™
I volunteered every Wednesday as a yoga teacher at the community center, providing yoga to those in need. πŸ™πŸ’— Later, I found my other teacher, who was not an asana teacher but a teacher of the mind: Tibetan Buddhist JigmΓ© Namgyal. All my teachers changed my life, my way of thinking, living, and breathing. πŸ™πŸ’—πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ I cannot thank them enough for taking me under their wings. πŸ™πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸŒΊ Yoga becomes most visible to most of us in the asanas or yoga postures. To train the mind is the real challenge. 😌 Meditating, compassion, kindness, less ego, more peace, and love for all living beings. πŸ™πŸ€—πŸ’—πŸ„
And of course lest we forget Yogini Husky Zorra who showed me how the be steady on my feet, to be mischievous and know what I want πŸ˜πŸ™ Miss her every day, but today a little more as it is her birthday in heaven πŸ₯ΉπŸ•πŸ’“
Zorra was part of my second studio, with my Middelburg Tribe of Yoginis that are still in my heart πŸ’—πŸŒ·πŸ™
And now in Dutch Flanders the Outdoor Yoga Studio and Online Studio still in place πŸ™πŸ˜ƒπŸŽŠπŸŒΏ
In the 7 years to come, I hope to be more visible with classes, workshops, fests, and retreats. πŸ™πŸŒΊβ˜€οΈπŸ˜ Earthy, rooted, practical, and present in the here and now. πŸ™πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ¦‹πŸŒ»

The studio is based in Rotterdam City Center, just behind Central station. I work in small groups, to be able to stay close to the process of the students.

In Summer we’ll be doing a lot of Yoga outdoors so make sure you stay updated through one of the channals.
