We are thrilled to announce new dates for our 200-hour Modern Vinyasa Teacher Training 2024 program! As we are currently halfway through the first edition, we have realized our unwavering commitment to continuing this transformative journey for years to come. Our aim is to consistently enhance the training experience and provide aspiring teachers and passionate yogis with top-quality instruction and materials.

We are delighted to unveil the dates for the upcoming edition of the 200-hour teacher training. The program will feature an immersive one-week training retreat amidst the stunning nature of the Ardene 🌳, followed by five weekends in the heart of Leiden 🗝️.

Why lunch yoga?

There are so many benefits to practicing yoga in the middle of the day. Swipe and read more:

DESTRESS
Sometimes you get so wrapped up in the daily demands of life, work etc., that you go into stress mode. Taking a break in the middle of your day also helps you to shift perspective and helps to find a little ease.

REFOCUS
Just like your muscles, your brain needs time to recover in order to perform at its best. Movement gives the brain a little bit of a rest and helps to gain clarity and focus - it’s kind of like bringing a bit of the flexibility built up in your body to your brain.

IMPROVES POSTURE
This is a big one. Patterns in your posture (bad ones) can lead to a lot of pain and distress. Timing your movement in the middle of the day is more effective, than for example at the end of the day when it comes to beat poor posture. Loosening tight joints and stretching tense muscles through yoga will help you find space in your limbs. This mid-day break will help the body break the patterns we tend to build up.

IMPROVES DIGESTION
Did you know that sitting still for long periods of time is actually one of the worst things to do when it comes to your digestion? With the motion and extra blood sent to your core through movement and asanas, your body will deal with food, and detoxify, much better.

BOOST YOUR MOOD
This is actually more for those around you. But yes, research shows that people who move during lunchtime are so much more pleasant to be around the rest of the day. We are not kidding. It’s a great way to wipe the slate clean—forget the annoyances or setbacks that may have happened this morning—the afternoon is looking BRIGHT!

We decided to make these classes short, sweet, and effective. But most of all we would like the the duration to be manageable. Research shows that a 45-minute practice is actually more effective during the day than a 60-minute practice to stock up on all the benefits and there are a lot of those.

What is Kirtan?

Chanting kirtan is a devotional practice that helps to uplift the mind, open the heart and bring inner peace. It is the fastest, easiest and most joyful way to achieve peace of mind. During kirtan the singer calls a chant and the audience responds by chanting back.
We understand that you might come from a different spiritual background, please try to take this as an opportunity for you to understand the concept of unity in diversity, and open up to a new way of connecting with the Divine whether that may be for you. This is what Yoga means by Union—Union with all that seems to be different from ourselves. In that Union we experience well being as a natural state of Being.

This jazz class combines the styles of Fosse jazz and other broadway performances. Starting with a warmup and moving into larger steps such as jumps and kicks, dancer will learn to use their full range of movement. After this, we will learn a choreographed piece for the Nutcracker Christmas Show on December 21st!

Coming up next week: Introduction to Yoga Practice
Thursdays 18:30-19:45 - Kerkstraat 75 Wassenaar

This 6-week course will provide an introduction to yoga and also a foundation to yoga. It’s open to people who are new to yoga, and those who want to know more about yoga.

We’ll systematically work through the techniques and effects of yoga poses that move the spine in 6 directions: forward and backward bends, lateral side bends, twists, integrated extension, and inversions. We will practice the poses in isolation to focus on alignment and in integration with other poses to balance the effects. We’ll unite movement with the breath, so we learn to listen to our internal guidance. We’ll also practice the poses on the different bases of the body: belly, back, knees, feet, and hands.

This is an integrated yoga course meaning we’ll focus on balancing the body with strengthening and stretching asana, and we’ll calm and regulate our minds with breath guided asana, relaxation poses, and breathing practices.
