This little one was born with Stahl’s ear, also known as Spock ear or elf ear. This condition is characterised by an extra fold of cartilage at the top of the ear, creating a pointed shape. ☹️
It occurs due to improper muscle development during early growth. If left untreated and corrected later in life, it may require surgery, including releasing the muscles at the back of the ear.
The good news? With early intervention (within the first 6 weeks after birth), this deformity can be corrected gently, without surgery or pain. 🤗
