CLOTHING SWAP
Calling people from Nazareth and Maastricht.
We are organizing a free, non-profit, Clothing swap event in Nazareth.
The (fast) fashion industry is extremely harmful to its garment workers, the environment, and at the end of the day, its consumers.
It works like this, you bring a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 12 pieces of clothing. At the entrance, you hand in your clothes and in return, you get a clothing swap currency with which you can take new pieces of clothing. We will also have a small dressing room.
This gives you the opportunity to get rid of your old clothes and also get new clothes without creating waste or buying new clothes. You can bring any type of clothing piece you want besides shoes or underwear these are not allowed. Accessories like hats, scarves, bags, and jewellery are allowed. You don’t have to necessarily bring your own clothes, it could also be your roommate’s, father’s or anyone else’s clothes.
Additionally, we will also have some other activities:
• We will have a face paint stand, where you can get you face decorated with pretty shapes and colours. This goes from cute drawings for children to high fashion runway.
• We will have a thrift flip/creative upcycle stand. At this stand you can completely change and renew an clothing piece to your liking with our help. You can tie dye your clothes, paint and decorate them using bleach, cut and sew and many more options!
• We will also have a place where you can sit down for a drink, and cookie.
• A live DJ set.
• A runway where you can show of your new/upcycled/decorated clothes and looks.
