The 24th European Vascular Course and 4th European Cardiovascular Course was a great succes! In the last two days almost 15000 workshop seats were digitally occupied spread over our 148 workshops.

We would like to thank all participants, tutors, moderators, partners, crewmembers and other friends of EVC for their contribution. Hope to see you all next year at our 25th anniversary!

Today the Getinge - Vascular International open AAA repair workshop attracted 228 participants at the 24th European Vascular Course. The tutors Dr Edin Mujagic and Dr Klaus Klemm were connected with 7 international hubs where the same AAA surgical model was sent to. The local trainees, performing the procedure in the models, followed exactly what the tutors in the Maastricht studios showed them to do. It was a great experience and fantastic training event!

The European Venous Course started with a session on IVUS Guided Venous Stenting by Dr. H Jalaie and Dr. M. Barbati.

The to the Vascular Access Course related Dutch vaattoegangsymposium led by Dr. M. van Loon and N. Grumiaux presented the basic ultrasound skills for vascular access cannulation procedure. More than 200 Dutch nurse practioners were digitally present.

Simultaneously the Vascular Access Course opened their program with a session on Arteriovenous graft placement by Dr. M Snoeijs, Dr. K van der Bogt, Dr. A. Mallios and Dr. M. Widmer.

Last but not least almost 250 participants joined the Arterial session of the European Vascular Course by Dr. M. de Haan and Dr. B. Mees on Iliac artery recanalization and stenting. @ MECC Maastricht

At the educative workshop surgical anatomy of the heart in combination with TEE, detailed anatomical considerations were given to each procedure and common safeguards and pitfalls were discussed. @ MECC Maastricht

Dearest colleagues,

In less than 2 days the EVC-ECC LIVE training event will be launched and today we started rehearsing the global digital connection system with Andre Rieu and Michael Jacobs, showing a thoracic aortic procedure. Having almost 10.000 seats reserved already, testing this revolutionary set-up is crucial and we will continue to do so all day tomorrow. We will keep you posted!

At present, the 8 high tech studios are under construction and will be ready to perform and host the 150 LIVE hands-on workshops on Sunday and Monday. Only a few days to go....

You still have the possibility to choose your workshops and sign on for our online training event. Importantly enough, the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) has granted the 24th European Vascular Course 14 CME credits.

On March 7 and 8, 2021, EVC organizes the first LIVE online hands-on training experience ever, offering 148 workshops, streamed from 8 high tech studios in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Renowned experts will moderate the workshops in the studios and you can actively participate with a “digital studio seat” or observe the sessions, wherever you are in the world. In several workshops you can even receive models and tools at home, to be used during the event, however, registration for these workshops closes on February 21.

Within the European Vascular Course there will be a special online training program for dialysis nurses on Monday 8 March.
In the morning ( Dutch spoken) you can participate in interactive workshops on ultrasound-guided cannulation. You can also participate in case-based discussions based on the clinical assessment and duplex research in patients with complex vascular access. In the afternoon ( English spoken) you are welcome to the regular EVC Vascular Access Course, which will cover, among other things, the endovascular construction of arteriovenous fistulas and the stimulation of maturation of vascular access.

We organize the workshops of the vascular access symposium in collaboration with the iMEP / Nipro training center for dialysis nurses. These workshops will be offered at both the basic level (for starting dialysis nurses) and at the advanced level (for experienced dialysis nurses). In order to achieve a lively interaction during the workshops, the number of active participants in the workshops is a maximum of 50 people. Off course you can also choose for the ‘view only ‘ option. The special registration fee is 50 euros and accreditation is provided.

New: EVC@ a glance
Earlier this week we launched the online EVC-ECC training program, consisting of 150 workshops on our website www.vascular-course.com.

In order to improve the survey-ability, we integrated an easy-to-use “Program at a glance”, including an overview of all training sessions.
By using this, we hope to simplify the digital journey through the workshop menu for you.

The online training program of EVC-ECC will consist of 150 live workshops, in which delegates are trained in their own environment, guided by experts in high-tech studios in Maastricht

We distinguish three forms of participation:
• Hands-on workshops with digital studio seats: delegates are present on screen and in direct audio visual contact with the tutors and fellow participants;
• Edited video workshops with digital studio seats and a similar interaction with the tutors;
• Learning, and observing the workshops without active presence in the studio.

All workshops will have digital seats. In order to accommodate as many delegates as possible we can offer maximal three studio seats per participant per day. Since the number of seats are limited, registrations follow the “first come, first serve” principle. If studio seats are fully booked, one can still participate and receive the E-learning module.
