We hosted our final weekly meeting of this semester yesterday in the Statenzaal, at the law faculty of Maastricht University.
The session was kicked off with a valuation flash round where every analyst team presented an updated valuation of one stock. Starting with the goods team, they pitched Ahold Delhaize and readjusted the target price to 29€. Therefore, the paid-in members decided to keep the stock in the portfolio.
The team followed with Deutsche Post AG. As a leader in global mail and logistics, the team valued the company at 54,26€ per share, which led to the paid-in members voting to hold the position.
After this, the team updated their valuation of Equinix. Due to the volatile industry, they decreased the target price to $699. The majority of the paid-in members still decided not to sell the stock off.
The team reevaluated Netflix. Even though the macroeconomic setting is unstable, the stock shows a possible undervaluation with a potential upside of 70% from the current price. The paid-in members therefore decided to keep the stock in the portfolio.
Finally, the team chose United Healthcare for their reevaluation. The strong market and potential growth, led to an increase in implied valuation upside of 17%, which in turn convinced the paid-in members to hold the stock.
After a short break, we were delighted to welcome Joe Fuss, an alumnus of SBE and former board member at Sigma investments, as our final guest speaker of this semester. He spoke about his work at Orange Capital partners in real estate valuation and investing. Additionally, Joe showed an example valuation of a potential investment and which metrics to look at in a spreadsheet.
We would like to thank all of you for your support during this semester and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Success with your exams!!
