Victus exists to remove guesswork from performance nutrition while keeping the science intact. 02 During is built on physiological research, peer-reviewed evidence, and extensive testing with endurance athletes.

The focus is clear: maximise carbohydrate absorption, sustain hydration, and minimise gastrointestinal stress at high intake levels - even in racing and prolonged training.

How it works: parallel pathway activation

Glucose and maltodextrin rely on the SGLT1 transporter. Fructose is absorbed via GLUT5. By activating these pathways in parallel, overall carbohydrate uptake is increased. This is essential for maintaining energy during long, high-intensity efforts.

An ode to our performance team: Meet the coaches and scientists who shape Victus.

Behind every Victus product, there is more than science and formulation. There is experience, built over decades. Knowledge, tested in the lab and proven in the field. And above all, there are people - performance coaches, nutritionists, scientists and elite athletes who dedicate their lives to pushing the boundaries of human endurance.

Guido Vroemen brings the precision of the scientist and the perspective of the coach. Karel Sabbe and Frank Heldoorn carry the lived experience of elite athletes who have turned effort into expertise. Patrick Toonders dig deep into physiology, revealing what happens when the body is stretched to its limits. Jim Hagenstein, René Koolwijk and Ralph van Dijk bring the endurance knowledge that translates science into training and racing. Bas Diederen - Dutch triathlon champion, Ironman winner and movement scientist -adds both theory and practice at the highest level. Yvonne van Vlerken - multiple Ironman winner and long-distance world record holder - embodies the connection between elite performance and coaching insight. Redmer Dijkstra sharpens performance through innovation in endurance training, Jaime Frias Amadori brings expertise in applied physiology, and Jimmy Wagner translates complex demands into strategies athletes can use in the real world.

And this is only part of the team. Together, they shape Victus. Their knowledge is our foundation. This is our ode to them.

Hot weather raises the stakes.

In the heat, your sweat rate rises, plasma volume drops, and core temperature climbs. Even a 2% fluid loss can impair performance and cognition. Dehydration increases heart rate, lowers stroke volume, and makes pace feel harder.

It’s not just water. You lose sodium too – often over 1.000 mg per hour. Replenish with 800 - 2.200 ml of fluid, adjusted to your sweat rate.

Skip replacement, and performance suffers. Smart fuelling means testing sweat rate, rehearsing intake, and adjusting for heat. Because in endurance sport, hydration isn’t optional.

The ran through two nights, one mountain range, and nearly 400 kilometres of asphalt and grit. Side by side, they crossed the finish line.
