OUR PRECIOUS

During my travels around the world, I found inspiration in unexpected encounters that I'd like to share with you. Sometimes you have to go (far) away to get closer. This time: "Our precious."

Years ago, I was on the film set of "The Shire," the home of the beloved Hobbits from "Hobbit & Lord of the Rings." On the North Island in Matamata, New Zealand. In my hands, I held the great ring used in the film "Lord of the Rings." Gollum's words inevitably came to mind: "My precious."

And then I suddenly realized that these words are also the "current" source of much evil, something we can change. Namely, if we start thinking and acting in terms of "our precious." Take a look:

OUR PRECIOUS

Tijdens mijn ontdekkingsreizen over de wereld ontving ik inspiratie uit onverwachte ontmoetingen die ik graag met je deel. Soms moet je (ver) weggaan om dichterbij te komen. Deze keer: ‘Our precious’.

Jaren geleden was ik de op filmset van ‘The Shire’, de woonplek van de geliefde Hobbits uit de ‘Hobbit & Lord of the Rings’. Op het Noordereiland in Matamata, Nieuw-Zeeland. In mijn handen hield ik de grote ring in mijn handen die gebruikt is in de film ‘Lord of the Rings’. Onherroepelijk kwamen de woorden van Gollum in me op: ‘My precious’.

En toen realiseerde me ineens dat deze woorden ook de ‘huidige’ bron van veel kwaad is, wat we kunnen veranderen. Namelijk als we gaan denken en handelen in termen van ‘our precious’. Kijk maar: https://martinthoolen.com/our-precious/

THE FAMOUS HEALER
During my travels around the world, I found inspiration from unexpected encounters that I'd like to share with you. Sometimes you have to go (far) away to get closer. This time: ‘The Famous Healer.’

Sometimes we're simply looking for direction, confirmation, or support. Me too. Then we might turn to an astrologer, psychic, reader, or healer. Or to a spiritual guide from your religion. Long ago, however, indigenous people sought wise advice from their tribal elders or a medicine man or woman. And the latter has always appealed to me. So I went looking for them and was fortunate enough to meet several worldwide. Like once in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Take a look:

DE BEROEMDE ‘HEALER’
Tijdens mijn ontdekkingsreizen over de wereld ontving ik inspiratie uit onverwachte ontmoetingen die ik graag met je deel. Soms moet je (ver) weggaan om dichterbij te komen. Deze keer: ‘De beroemde healer’.

Soms zijn we gewoon op zoek naar richting, bevestiging of een steuntje in de rug. Ik ook. Dan gaan we misschien wel eens naar een astroloog, medium, reader of healer. Of naar een geestelijk begeleider vanuit de religie die je aanhangt.

Heel vroeger echter gingen inheemse mensen voor wijze raad op zoek naar de stamoudste of een medicijnman of -vrouw. En dat laatste heeft me altijd aangetrokken. Dus ging ik ernaar op zoek en had de mazzel om er een aantal wereldwijd te mogen ontmoeten. Zoals ooit in Ubud in Bali, Indonesië. Kijk maar:
