Tulip season in my region is always breathtaking - so when we visited a market right opposite this field I had to do a yoga pose. Dancer is always easy when you're in shoes and want to see the background 😍 (and this is how you take photos with the flowers without harming the bulbs, stay on the outside) 🌷

Always yogaing out and about 😇 This pose was tricky as it was on a very slippery wall covered in algae, but it looks so cool! Nature taking over 🙌 My lovely boyfriend took this photo during our holiday in Spain (woop and that inspired me for the audio - i used to listen to Bløf all the time ☀️)

Vacation mode on! At one of the surf spots we saw these high tables that of course I wanted to sit on - we ended up having coffee (/oat Chai latte) here this morning and it was so fun! With a view of the sea too (see the video 😍)

Yoga at the hospital 🙏🏻 My dad has been sick, and with antibiotics it's not improved yet. So now we're here, to get him checked through thoroughly. I'm grateful to be here, it feels safer and better than just waiting at home with no info. (I'm looking at my phone here because I was making some content 😇) Give a hug to your family and loved ones for me 🙏🏻❤️

Start of the renovation! Since the last post was so sad I wanted to share an update. We've successfully moved all the plants and all our stuff. I still feel pretty good, tho it's the first day without a sofa and no workers / loud noise yet. They're fully starting on Monday. Choosing and buying stuff for the new bathroom was actually pretty fun! We chose petrol and light pink tiles, and golden details like taps and showers.
Though worrying about my health is normal, it feels a bit silly now with what's going on in the world. So many people and children are struggling. Praying for peace and safety for them. 🕊️

Since I've been sharing the good days, I also wanted to share the past few days: headache, anxiety and full on crying cos I am so worried about the upcoming home renovation. Since the brain injury, our home is my safe space. That's all changing soon, and I'm so worried. Will I be able to rest and manage symptoms in this 5+ week period? Will I be able to work? Will my plants be ok? And how will the cats feel? Where are we going to put all our stuff??? My boyfriend has great solutions (and no anxiety) so it will be ok, but the worry doesn't go away that easily. If you have a long lasting or chronic illness you might understand better than most ❤️ thank you if you read all this 🙏🏻❤️

Do you feel comfortable in your swimwear?
So far I've only worn this very skimpy swimsuit in the garden, and... in a youtube video 😅 It's a try on of all my swimwear and I made it to show all bodies are worthy of wearing bikinis and show skin- if you want to. Check it here if you haven't seen it yet:
https://youtu.be/JHmifb8w_7Y ❤️ And if you notice judgements about this photo, I have a story highlight about that on my profile! ❤️
Have a great week friends! ❤️

Hey! How are you doing? I'm well, still working hard on recovery. Yesterday I went surfing for the first time since last summer (it was awesome) so today I slept and took it easy. Until I heard my boyfriend won a local surf competition so I went to the beach to celebrate! It was actually ok being with people and in the sun, tho I'm taking it easy tonight and tomorrow to make sure I'm not overdoing it ❤️ 👀PS I would normally never wear shoes on the beach but my feet injury is playing up so I need the support of my special soles 👣👟🤷🏻‍♀️

Our Story

Roos Kocken is yoga teacher, body positivity ambassador and adventurer. She loves yoga because it can help us on so many levels, not just physically to get stronger and more flexible, but also to release stress and tension, be more present in the moment and be mindful in life.

Her yoga journey started when she was 15 and her parents took her to a Dru yoga conference. Here, she saw that yoga was so much more than movement, it brought young people of all shapes and sizes together to find joy and make a change in the world. They collected food for the homeless, organized peace walks and had amazing adventures together in nature. To deepen her knowledge of yoga, Roos enrolled in the Dru yoga teacher training and started teaching her first classes in 2009 during her time in university.

During travels in India and Indonesia she found inspiration in more active styles of yoga, allowing her adventurous spirit to fully join the yoga party. Tara Judelle taught her that handstands and arm balances can be a part of your yoga practice too!

Roos found her Vinyasa teachers in Briohny Smyth and Dice Iida Klein of Bryce Yoga School. After quitting her fulltime job and going for a yoga teacher life, she did her second yoga teacher training with Bryce Yoga in the summer of 2017. After a severe knee injury, she had to slow down and focused on learning how to teach Yin yoga and chair yoga. Her own experience with different injuries has greatly inspired her teaching style and taught Roos many ways to adjust postures so that anyone can participate in her classes.
