Boskalis expands its cable protection solutions with the addition of the powerful and versatile CBT2400 to its range of subsea cable trenchers. By combining both jetting and cutting modes into one trencher, it is suitable for burying cables in various soil types up to 3.3 meters deep. The CBT2400 has been mobilized onto our cable-laying vessel Ndeavor in Newcastle (UK) for sea trials.

We are very proud to have been awarded the offshore export cable installation contract for the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm by Ørsted Wind Power A/S. The project consists of three export cable circuits with a total length of approximately 380 kilometers.

Yesterday we attended the Big Bang STEM event at the Aegeus bowl in the UK where we provided advice on career path opportunities at Boskalis and introduced our VR game that has been adapted from one of our project scenes. Hosted by EBP South, Big Bang @ Solent is one of the biggest careers events on the South Coast for secondary school students aged 11-17. The aim of the event is to encourage young people to go into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine) careers.

Congratulations to e.on on the inauguration of the Arkona offshore wind farm. In 2018, Boskalis Subsea Cables & Flexibles installed the inter-array cables that connect the 60 six-megawatt turbines to the offshore substation in order to transport renewable energy to around 400,000 households.

Boskalis has reached an agreement with SPIE for the acquisition of the offshore cable installation activities and assets of Bohlen Doyen GmbH (BoDo). Through this acquisition, we strengthen our position in the offshore cable market forming a welcome addition following a string of recent large contract wins.

Boskalis has been awarded the "Tyra Redevelopment Subsea Installation Phase II" contract by Total E&P Denmark. The sizable contract includes subsea engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation for the Tyra Redevelopment project in order to extend the operational lifetime of the Tyra offshore gas field by at least 25 years.

As a safety initiative, we set aside an amount a day for each day on the Arkona project without an accident. Together with our client E.on we have donated the amount to a nominated charity – in this case the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service DGzRS. At the Wind Energy Hamburg exhibition, Arno van Poppel (Boskalis Subsea) and Holger Matthiesen (E.on) presented the cheque to Nicolaus Stadeler from DGzRS. We are delighted to support its brave volunteers!

The 'Boskalis on Bio' program is aimed at achieving a 35% reduction in the CO2 emitted by the Boskalis fleet and equipment in the Netherlands in the next five years. As of last week the large trailing suction hopper dredger Prins der Nederlanden is powered by a biofuel blend resulting in a substantial CO2 reduction on the Borssele Alpha project.

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V.
