The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced on Thursday the release of P309 million for the establishment of Child Development Centers (CDCs) through multi-purpose building (MPB) projects in various barangays across the country.

In a news release, the DBM said Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman approved the release of the funds under the Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to LGUs (LGSF-FA to LGUs) in the 2025 national budget.

DAY 2 SNAPSHOTS

The Bontoc Child Development Workers' Federation -BCDWsF with Ma'am Venice Grace Cacho, the new ECCD Focal person/SWO I and other CDWs from the different municipalities of Mountain Province attended the 1st day workshop entitled: " STRENGTHENING ECCD IMPLEMENTATION: CAPACITY -BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT WORKERS IN MOUNTAIN PROVINCE" on May 28-29, 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall, Bontoc, MTN. Prov.

This activity was conducted by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in collaboration with the ECCD Council. It aims to strengthen the implementation of the National Early Curriculum (NELC) and align local ECCD practices with national standards and the ECCD External Assessment process.

The topics about the Developmental Milestones of Young Children and Planning Activities for Children were discussed by Sir Edwin Taleon while the topic about Assessment Using the ECCD Checklist was discussed by Ma'am Julia Cristel Mercado. They are both staffs from the ECCD Council.

Bukod pa sa pagpapatibay ng skills ng ECCD workers, swak na swak rin 'to sa "fixing the foundations" na layunin natin!

TO DALICAN OFF WE GO...

Some of the Bontoc Child Development Workers' Federation -BCDWsF members volunteered to accompany Ma'am Rachel Ebfan, a SWO from the MSWDO to assess the CDCs (Dalican Ili and Kadattay) at Dalican, Bontoc Mtn. Prov. on May 20, 2025.

This internal assessment aims to improve the quality of care and education provided to children. It's a process of self-evaluation that allows programs to identify the strengths and areas that need improvement that leads to a more effective planning and implementation of continuous quality improvement strategies.

INTERNAL ASSESSMENTS HELP THE CDCs and CDWs to:
a. Identify the strengths and weaknesses,
b. Enhance program quality,
c. Promote continuous improvement, and
d. Inform decision-makings

During the assessment, the Brgy. Chairman, the midwife and a BHW/BNS were present.

Nilagdaan na ni President Bongbong Marcos ang ECCD System Act, o ang RA 12199, na nagpapalakas sa ating early childhood care and development (ECCD) sector! Sa bagong batas, magiging standardized na ang SGs ng CDT and CDWs, magkakaroon na ng ECCD Offices sa bawat LGU, bukod pa sa ibang hakbang para ng ECCD sa bansa.

Kasama ang co-authors at Co-Chairperson Senator Win Gatchalian at Rep. Roman Romulo, at si former Commissioner at ngayo'y TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez sa mga champions ng batas na ito, at ng ECCD sa Pilipinas.

The Bontoc Child Development Workers' Federation -BCDWsF together with Ma'am Victorian K. Oyeng, a staff from the MSWDO conducted a CapDev/Team Building/CDW Outing on April 23, 2025(Wednesday) at Dreamland Resort, Cervantes.

This said activity was planned in order to chill and relax everyone's body and mind; to bond and enjoy with our co-CDWs after the fun, tiring and motivating year of teaching our learners.char.....😅🤣

"Coming together is a beginning; Keeping together is progress; Working together is success."
