Today’s topic is obesity. Obesity is defined based on what we call the Body Mass Index (BMI).

So, what is BMI?
BMI is a number obtained by dividing a person’s weight (in kilograms) by the square of their height (in meters). Based on this number, we classify individuals as:

Normal weight

Overweight

Obese

Obesity itself is categorized as follows:
🔹 Class 1 Obesity: BMI between 30–35
🔹 Class 2 Obesity: BMI between 35–40
🔹 Class 3 Obesity: BMI over 40

There is also a special group with a BMI of 50 and above, and we refer to them as Super Obese.

Understanding your BMI is the first step toward managing your weight and protecting your health.
