Phuntsok Chö Ling is een open boeddhistisch centrum. Wij organiseren meditatie- en studieklassen. In de hoop dat je daardoor ook vrede schept voor je omgeving.

Bij Phuntsok Chö Ling krijg je les van de Tibetaanse leraar Lama Jigmé Namgyal die je op een laagdrempelige manier laat kennismaken met de boeddhistische kijk op het leven. Hij geeft uitleg over de werking van je geest en de methoden om hierin rust te brengen. Door dit onderricht krijgt je meditatie een diepere betekenis en meer effect in je dagelijkse praktijk. Onder leiding van Lama Jigmé willen wij een brug slaan tussen een eeuwenoude vredescultuur van wijsheid en mededogen en de westerse manier van leven. Het Tibetaans boeddhisme heeft een unieke visie op het welzijn en geluk van mensen. Vanuit die visie probeert Phuntsok Chö Ling een bijdrage te leveren aan een vreedzame samenleving. Dat begint bij de student zelf: door meditatie, studie en het volgen van onderricht kun je rust voor jezelf creëren. Phuntsok Chö Ling is opgericht door Lama Jigmé Namgyal. Al zijn activiteiten en verdiensten worden opgedragen aan de herinnering aan zijn leraar Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. Lama Jigmé Namgyal is in 1973 geboren, in een nomadenfamilie in Amdo, in het oosten van Tibet. Op 8-jarige leeftijd ging hij het klooster in en tien jaar later vertrok hij naar Sertar Larung Gar, de boeddhistische universiteit van Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. Hier heeft hij onder andere Tantra bestudeerd. Op zijn beurt heeft Lama Jigmé veel onderricht gegeven aan monniken en burgers in Tibet. Op verzoek van zijn leraren besloot Lama Jigmé Namgyal om naar Europa te gaan. Een enorme stap, want hij had geen idee van de Europese cultuur en sprak geen andere taal dan het Tibetaans. Door te gaan werken heeft Lama Jigmé in korte tijd veel inzicht gekregen in de westerse cultuur en Engels geleerd. In Europa heeft hij niet alleen een centrum in Luxemburg (Centre Culturel Tibétain) opgericht, maar ook in Rotterdam (Phuntsok Chö Ling). Who we are

Everyone is welcome
Phuntsok Chö Ling is an open Buddhist center: Everyone is welcome to come and learn about meditation and the Buddhist path. We organize meditation courses, readings, meditation weekends and retreats. After an initial introduction to meditation, you can continue your studies with us. On every evening of the week in our temple there's a class at a different level. Peace in your daily life. At Puntsok Chö Ling you receive lessons from the Tibetan teacher Lama Jigmé Namgyal who introduces you to the Buddhist view of life in a manner that's accessible to everyone. He gives instruction on the workings of your mind, and how you can bring peace to it. His teachings bring more depth to your meditation, which in turn has an effect on your everyday life. Our objective
With the guidance of Lama Jigmé our aim is to build a bridge between an ancient cultural tradition of peace, wisdom and compassion, and the contemporary Western manner of living. Tibetan Buddhism has a unique vision of the well-being and happiness of human beings. With this as our basis, Phuntsok Chö Ling hopes to contribute to making our society more peaceful by starting at the individual level with meditation, study and following the teachings as a means to this end. Phuntsok Chö Ling was founded by Lama Jigmé Namgyal. All of his activities and merits are dedicated to the memory of his teacher Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. More about Lama Jigmé
The name Phuntsok Chö Ling was given to the center by Kyabjé Rinpoche, the former teacher of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Chamtrul Rinpoche Lobsang Gyatso is the recognized reincarnation of the second Chamtrul Rinpoche, Pema Nangsel Dorje, one of the heads of Mardo Tashi Choeling Monastery in Tibet and the holy incarnation of Kathok Chamtrul Kunzig Dorje. He received this title again from Kathok Monastery, where he was also honored with the traditional Pandita hat of the Khenpos.

Rinpoche has received the complete cycles of teachings, initiations, and transmissions from more than twenty-five great masters and scholars from India and Tibet.

A beautiful closing to our Chöd retreat! 🌼🙏
We ended these days of deep practice with food, song, and joy! So much gratitude to Lama Rinpoche, KhandroLa, and all the practitioners who made this retreat so meaningful.

Now we enter a summer break, with time to rest and continue our personal practice at home. We’ll gather again at Phuntsok Chö Ling in September — recharged and ready to continue the path together.

Greetings from Delhi Airport! Lama Jigmé Namgyal Rinpoche and students are en route to the Netherlands for our only 10-day Chöd retreat of the year. For those unable to attend the full retreat, you may still join for one or both weekends.

✨ The final Sunday will include a transmission & blessing day. Full 10-day recordings available upon request.

We return deeply inspired after a sacred pilgrimage to India—celebrating His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday in Dharamshala, and offering prayers at Tso Pema (Rewalsar Lake), on behalf of all of you.

Now heading home, our hearts are full of gratitude—for the blessings, shared prayers, and chance to serve.

🙏 Teachings with Lama Rinpoche will resume after the retreat, followed by a well-deserved summer break.

May all merits benefit the enlightenment of all beings.

The day began with an inspiring yoga session led by our dear Ariadne, followed by delicious food, cake, and heartfelt connection. 🎂🧘‍♀️
We closed with a peaceful meditation and a long life prayer for His Holiness. 🕯️💫
In heart and mind, we remain deeply connected with Lama Rinpoche and Khandro La, who are celebrating in Dharamsala. 🌸🌏
