My fairytale garden this morning ❄️
Snow softens the landscape in a way that feels almost therapeutic.
The busyness fades, the mind naturally slows,
and space appears where there was once noise. How effortlessly things can shift.
I notice it here, and with every hypnotherapy session clients I work with.
Stillness has its own intelligence, it supports positive changes, like snow protects the life underneath to rest, recharge and burst out when the time is right.

One of my clients, who had struggled with a long-standing fear of dogs, recently sent me a video that made my day: her calmly stroking a dog with another on her lap!

Self acceptance is not the end of growth. It is the beginning.
When the nervous system feels judged or pushed, it resists change. But when it feels understood, it relaxes, and new patterns finally have space to form. There is something incredibly freeing about the moment you stop trying to be a different version of yourself and begin meeting yourself exactly where you are.

From a therapeutic and neurological viewpoint, acceptance regulates the nervous system.
The brain becomes far more open to change when it no longer feels criticised or threatened. When you step out of self judgment, problem solving becomes easier, emotions settle more quickly and habits shift with less resistance.

Ever since I was a child, I thought it too simplistic to think of us as having a good side and bad side, like with those cartoons of someone with a little angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other, or the proverb of two wolves inside us... I realised as time went on that I like to think of it a bit differently...
