A few years ago, my leg was amputated below the knee and since then I have been dealing
with never-ending problems. My leg was continuously changing and my socket prosthetic
was a constant source of discomfort and pain. I endlessly tried to adapt the prosthetic to my
needs; in the end I adapted to a life with reduced mobility.
Six months ago, I had the osseointegration surgery and since then my life has changed in
ways I would have never dared to hope for. I regained my mobility fairly quickly, I walk
without any aid and I'm no longer in pain. I’m back doing the things that I love the most:
Hiking, biking, climbing and just enjoying time in nature. Everything feels effortless and I’m at
ease with myself and my life.
I am immensely grateful for the experience, knowledge and commitment of the AOFE team,
they changed my life for the better.
