Directe tandvervanging volgens het protocol beschreven door Staas & Groenendijk levert het minste discomfort op voor de patiënt en geeft het mooiste en voorspelbaarste esthetische eindresultaat. Als na 2 tot 6 maanden wordt gestart met de implantatie blijkt in meer dan 80 procent van de gevallen te weinig bot en tandvlees aanwezig. Om met de oude methode een tand of kies te vervangen zijn er 3 tot 5 hersteloperaties noodzakelijk. De behandelperiode bestrijkt dan 1 tot 2 1/2 jaar. Gedurende deze behandelperiode wordt ter vervanging van de tand meestal een losse prothesetand gedragen (ook wel plaatje genoemd). Na zoveel operaties is de esthetiek meestal niet optimaal te herstellen en zijn de kosten hoger dan bij de directe tandvervanging. Het innovatieve en wetenschappelijk bewezen Protocol Staas & Groenendijk maakt een einde aan deze lijdensweg. In één behandeling wordt de tand vervangen door een implantaat met een tijdelijke kroon. U gaat met een vaste tand weer naar huis. Na 2 tot 6 maanden wordt de definitieve porseleinen tand vervaardigd. Moet er bij u een tand of kies worden verwijderd, laat dan eerst een 3D scan maken om te beoordelen of directe tandvervanging mogelijk is.
