On Saturday, 15 November, Sinterklaas will make his grand arrival in The Netherlands, also known as the 'intocht'. Sinterklaas arrives aboard his steamboat in Scheveningen Harbour, bringing gifts, gingerbread cookies, and other treats. The celebrations start at 10:00 a.m. with lively music and performances to entertain families waiting to welcome him.

Afterwards, Sinterklaas and his helpers will parade through the city, following a set route from the harbour to the city center, spreading cheer and excitement along the way. Keep in mind that there may be some traffic disruptions around the city during this festivity. From her early days as a student to her current role connecting changemakers at The Humanity Hub, Marija recalls how The Hague has evolved alongside her, watching the city transform as her own journey unfolded. Today, she leads Just Peace The Hague, curating programmes that bring the ideals of peace and justice out of institutions and into everyday life.
