Well...what a Six Nations that was! Were you also left as speechless as us?
March would be incomplete without a rugby post from us. Beyond the incredible skill and nail-biting finishes, there is always something happening on the mental side of the game.
One moment that stood out to us was Scotland captain Sione Tuipulotu speaking about belief in the changing room (taken from ).
When he mentions an “air-tight changing room”, he is referring to sticking to their team identity no matter what, and staying true to their values and their playing style. When pressure rises and momentum is required, it’s the culture inside the team that makes the difference.
That comes from one of the most crucial elements in team sport: cohesion and connection within the group. When players, coaching, and support staff feel aligned in their values, goals, and commitment to one another, and you pair that with going through the trenches with each other and rising up afterwards, you get that powerful collective self-belief that Sione talks about.
Anyway, that was just one highlight for us, out of the many nail-biting moments from the Six Nations tournament this year.
On that note, personal leadership, team identity, and commitment are things we are continuously contributing to in our work with rugby clubs and academies. From building clarity around roles and expectations, to facilitating space for honest conversations, and designing training around developing confidence and performance under fatigue, we’ve been having a lot of fun being part of the process!
