For our books we explored surf meccas and unknown coastal areas extensively: France, Portugal, northern Spain, Andalusia (Southwest Europe edition), Scandinavia, the North Sea islands, Dutch, Belgian and Normandy coast (Northwest edition), Morocco and Great Britain & Ireland. Of course you can find wher

e and when to surf, for all levels. But more importantly, we give you a good sense of the backdrop, the scenery and the atmosphere. Beside surfing necessities, I Love The Seaside points out the nicest places to hang out and have a coffee or do some funky shopping. Where to visit local music and art venues and do other activities like horseback riding, yoga, hiking, biking or relaxing, visit a hammam or get a good massage. We guide you to the nicest seaside accommodations for different budgets and cool places to eat or enjoy a sunset beer. You’ll learn some funny facts and get to know interesting local people by reading their anecdotes and stories. You’ll get handy tips and tricks to improve your surfing and overall health and fitness. And beware; the delicious local recipes and food facts will encourage a gourmand appetite. I Love The Seaside Surf and Travel guide informs, entertains and gives a good read, all in one. Last week we stopped by (sloooowly on our way home) to say hi and check out their Longboard Test Centre. The crew are preparing for the season, buzzing with enthusiasm.

It’s never just hi and bye – we go way back. A visit always means food, drinks, chats, and exchanging ideas.

We left with joyful hearts, in awe of the test centre – with over 20 beautiful boards from brands like Lufi, Collective Surfboards , Skindog, Kai Sallas and more. And obvs, not without a board to test ourselves!

You can try any board, buy, or rent one during your stay in Cantabria. Go and see for yourself when you’re around!

Is it really almost over? 2025 hasn’t been the easiest or smoothest year for us. It’s been a year of reminders that life’s full of surprises, changes, adapting. We lost loved ones, and are learning to live without them.

But also a year of beginnings! Events and festivities. And so much support and love. We’re reflecting on what’s passed and looking to what’s ahead, with gratitude, faith, and delightfully sore arms from the many waves surfed in between.
