Some time ago, I used to be surprised when people with regular 5-to-9 jobs would say they didn’t know what to do with themselves when they weren’t working or had to stay home for a longer period.

For me, that was hard to relate to—I always had something to do. Time never felt like enough. I needed to create, to be surrounded by my things, to invite people at home... I was constantly occupied, always building something.

Of course, looking back, it makes sense—I never had a 9-to-5 job.

Now I see that both paths have their advantages and disadvantages. People with steady jobs and successful careers often have more structure, organizational skills, and consistent productivity. Meanwhile, those of us with freelance or creative professions may enjoy more flexibility and a sense of freedom.

But I can also honestly say: that freedom often comes at a cost. Speaking only for myself (though I know many colleagues who’d agree), there have been deep highs and lows—periods of procrastination, disappointment, financial struggle, and emotional turbulence.

Thankfully, in recent years, the glorification of the nine-to-five lifestyle has started to fade. Fewer people want to work for a boss, and some with structured careers dream of freedom. Meanwhile, many creatives are now searching for structure and balance.

I find this meeting point between both worlds really beautiful. It’s no longer just about asking “What do you do for work?” but rather “What’s your vision of life?”

Instead of being interested in how much someone earns, we’re becoming more curious about how they speak, how they feel. It’s a space where both sides can share their experiences, collaborate, and co-create something unique—then shake hands, or even better, embrace in a big, genuine hug.

MOVE – BREATHE – CONNECT

MOVE – Deze yoga beoefening is erop gericht om het lichaam te ontgiften en op het in balans brengen van je geest door middel van beweging en meditatie. Een oefening in aandacht die aansluit bij je deugdzame gewoonten. Je hebt misschien moed nodig om op je mat te gaan zitten en ‘dank je wel’ tegen jezelf te zeggen.

BREATHE – Hier gebeurt het! Als je je op je adem focust in je yoga beoefening, word je je bewust van de controle die je hebt over je levensenergie. Je geest wordt rustiger en er zal een kalm bewustzijn ontstaan.

CONNECT – Zintuiglijke organen zijn hulpmiddelen voor het verwijderen van lijden, het beheersen van de geest en het bereiken van innerlijke vrede. Leren om de zintuigen te verzachten tijdens je beoefening, verbindt je met de diepere lagen van het zelf.
