Moving from one country to the next is the easy bit of this entire journey. Many can pack up a kitchen, a closet or a bedroom. But it does take guts, courage and so much self-trust to walk away from one life, to say goodbye to everything known. To leave the comfort of the familier and loved to begin a new life from scratch - that's when many of the fearless and the brave stand up.

PSA from a licensed psychologist....
It is not our responsibility to know another's feelings towards us, in fact it is impossible to predict this yet many of us have been socialised to believe this to be true - it's exhausting, creates an anxious and worry loop and does is conducive of good relationships.
Being angry or upset at one another is normal - we all feel all the ranges of emotions! However, we cannot be responsible of knowing when someone is upset at us. That is on them to tell us! 🫶
When you try to predict every possible outcome, it may be because you don't believe you can handle the unexpected. You become very good at building layers of preparation - hoping that the more you control, the safer you will then feel. But no amount of planning can guarantee the certainty you're chasing.
Instead, it leaves you feeling exhausted, depleted, stuck in a cycle of worry and anxiety and constantly thinking about the 'what ifs', constantly fearing what may happen.
You may be wondering, what's the solution here?
Often, the answer lies not in gaining more control, but in trusting yourself.
It's not about knowing what will happen, rather knowing that whatever comes, you have the strength, knowledge and tools to face it.
Practice not trying to manage every details and practice understanding your ability to adapt.
More often than not, the safety we are looking and striving for in already within us.

Ah, the beautiful way Morgan Harper Nichols always seems to conjure up magic through stringing just the right words together ✨🌱
You are limitless. 🌟 Oscar Wilde said, ‘What are you? To define is to limit.’
I often find my clients become stuck when learning and understanding who they truly are - many see themselves from a black and white view, rigid and finite and singular. For me, I don't believe we need specific labels or rigid definitions to understand who we are. Yes, I am a Psychologist and lover of nature, a wife, a fur baby mom and a friend. And yes, I realise as I type this, the paradoxical nature of this post seeing as I just named but a few of my 'labels'. I guess what I am trying to relay is that as humans we are many things, all at once—ever-experiencing, changing, growing, and evolving. Embrace the freedom of not fitting into a single box and allow yourself to be everything you are. ✨
