Settling into the Netherlands? Here's what you need to know about the healthcare system to make sure you're covered!

🩺Mandatory health insurance: if you’re living and working in the Netherlands, you must have basic health insurance.
👨‍⚕️Finding a doctor: the first step is registering with a GP (Huisarts), who will be your go-to for most health care concerns
💉Pharmacies: prescriptions are handled by your GP, and local pharmacies (apotheken) can fill them for you.
🚑Emergency services: dial 112 for emergencies–police, fire, and ambulance services all in one call
