Eosta recently visited our citrus and grape growers in South Africa—not for audits, but for real conversations about sustainability, guided by the 🌸 Sustainability Flower.

Some inspiring highlights:
✅ Carpe Diem is scaling regenerative grape farming with cover crops and no pesticides.
✅ Orex Farms supports 2,000 staff with childcare and schooling for families.
✅ Groenheuwel powers its farm and the grid with a 1.2 MW solar plant.

Last Saturday was World Fair Trade Day – a good moment to highlight the impact of in our supply chain.

In 2024, Eosta started offering Fairtrade organic certified avocados from Kenya – creating fair opportunities for -scale farmers.

With the Fairtrade premium, farmers not only earn better prices – they also invest in their . One of the first results? Micro biogas installations that provide a clean alternative to cooking on wood fire, still common in rural areas.

In 2023, we supported the formation of democratically organised farmer groups. It wasn’t easy – from paperwork to local elections – and logistical hurdles like the Red Sea crisis didn’t help. But we made it work.

On this day in 1996, 19 farmers in Brazil were killed while peacefully protesting for something very basic: fair access to land, water, seeds and the right to grow food.

Sadly, that struggle continues. Around the world, small farmers still face land grabbing, unfair trade and climate injustice.

And yet—they are the heart of our food system. Without them, no food. No future.
