To all you lovely people out there,
When did we stop being proud of our happiness, our luck, our abundance, and our light?
Just because it makes someone else uncomfortable, jealous, or envious, does not mean you should ever dim your glow.
You were born to be free.
You were born to be abundant.
You were born to be happy.
You were born to be unapologetically you.
So often, it starts in childhood.
Little comments. Small judgments.
And before you know it, those voices live in your head, telling you to shrink, to be small, and dim your light so others feel more comfortable.
But no more.
I used to feel guilty for my joy, my luck, and the light I carry.
The moment I stopped apologizing for who I am, everything changed.
I realized something powerful:
By being fully myself, I am not overshadowing anyone.
I am not responsible for other peopleās triggers, feelings, or projections.
I am only responsible for my own feelings, actions, and thoughts, and so is everyone else.
So when someone feels some type of way about you being happy, radiant, or blessed...
that is theirs to work through.
Sounds like a you problem, not a me problem.
I told my son the best response to his friends is this, and to say it with compassion:
I am not responsible for your feelings.
You can choose to envy me, or you can choose to be happy for me.
You choose. Iāll be happy either way.
His whole face lit up.
And as a mother, that felt like such a beautiful, proud moment.
So tell me...
How lucky are you?
And can you allow yourself to fully own it?
Tell me in the comments: what is one thing in your life you no longer feel guilty for? āØ
Much love,
