The Bergen fMRI Group is an interdisciplinary research group at the University of Bergen (UiB) and Haukeland University Hospital with interests in functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). The Bergen fMRI Group in collaboration with Trondheim fMRI group at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), make up the National Resource Center for fMRI in Norway. The research is focused

on brain activation studies related to a broad spectre of cognitive functions, including laterality, speech and language, working memory, attention, cognitive control and emotions, depression and aging. A particular focus for the fMRI Group is on the study of auditory hallucinations in schizophrenia, and dichotic listening studies of cognitive control. The group is involved in research related to voxel-based morphometry, perfusion/diffusion imaging, diffusion tensor imaging, spectroscopy, EEG and neuroinformatics, using a range of statistical tools and software. The fMRI Group collaborates with several clinical research groups particularly with regard to psychiatric disorders (psychosis, depression), different forms of language disorders (dyslexia, stuttering, speech processing, aphasia), and aging. These collaborating research groups are: Bergen Psychosis Project 2 (BP2), Bergen Cognition and Learning Group (BCLG), Bergen Logopedic Research Group (B.LOG), Mood and Cognitive Function (MCF), Bergen Research Group on Auditory Perception (BeRG-AP) and Neuropsychological Phenotyping Group (NPG). The fMRI group is member of the Nordic Center of Excellence on Cognitive Control (NCoE) funded by the Nordic Council (NOS), and is the recipient of an European Research Council Advanced Grant (ERCAdG) through professor Kenneth Hugdahl.
