New work with propionate has shown neuroprotection and remyelination in an animal model of a de-myelinating disease similar to MS. These studies are performed by feeding with propionate but the nerve cells are then cultured separately and measured for response. This means the results are promising but they need testing in humans and the size of effect isnt known. So there is still a way to go, but this latest paper is another small step forward.

In inflammatory neuropathies, oxidative stress results in neuronal and Schwann cell (SC) death promoting early neurodegeneration and clinical disab...

Ceventrix works via the gut-brain axis and its been a busy month for research in MS and the gut-brain axis. In Denmark researchers found specific changes in gut bacteria related to MS disease, and disease activity supporting a strong role of gut bacteria in MS, Meanwhile an american review promotes using bacterial metabolites against MS, for example propionate - a great support of Ceventrix. This review gives a detailed description of how propionate works and also discusses other important nutrients. This is supported by a second review of gut bacterial activity in MS, again from the US.
Is there scientific consensus of the role of the gut-brain axis in MS. We would say yes. Ceventrix is the first product directed to the gut-brain axis.

God Jul!

As the Christmas holidays approach, we wish you all a wonderful time. We know that each of you has a unique story, each with its own ups and downs. Our meetings with the MS community has been for us a source of inspiration in strength and good spirit, and we offer a big thanks to those who have talked to us.

Whatever your circumstances; cherish the good times this Christmas, don´t worry if everything isnt perfect, and don´t apologise for any short fallings. Our bodies will set up challenges (an understatement maybe!) and the world outside is doing its best to drag us down. But stay strong. Listen to the voices that give you energy, those you love, and we look forward to gaining our strength and inspiration from more of you in 2023.

Happy Christmas.
