1. reconnect with calm energy 5 to 10 minutes.
• When you come home, resist the urge to greet them with high energy.
• Instead give slow pets, speak in a low, soothing tone and let them sniff you. This helps them ground and reconnect with you.
• Sit with them quietly for a few minutes no commands no excitement just presence.

🧠 why it helps: Co-regulation. Your calm nervous system helps settle theirs.
