This assists the therapist with knowledge of the issues the client experiencing, dedications, implants, operation sites or long-term illness which could be contra indications to receiving massage.
Any questions will be answered during the assessment time. Once the treatment is completed and any other problematic areas are established, we can refer you to other specialist therapists.
This type of massage can improve the functions of the muscles and joints.
It brings oxygen and nutrients to the muscles as well as assisting in the removal of wastes and toxins that are held in the muscles.

ONCOLOGY / CANCER MASSAGE
I have been trained in many aspects of cancer and its treatments. This massage is very gentle to encourage relaxation in the client and this in turn assist the body to better deal with the medications and treatments given for cancer recovery. Training included knowledge of massage to areas of surgery, lymph gland removal, areas fitted with ports and areas that have received radiation therapy.
Specialised massage pressures and techniques will be used dependant on client’s progress in their cancer treatment program. New pathways for lymph drainage, when glands have been removed, will be encouraged with this massage technique.
Regular massage sessions are recommended throughout the cancer treatment programme to assist the body in coping with tough procedures.
ULTRA LIGHT RELAXATION MASSAGE
This massage technique has an ultra-light touch and is recommended for deep relaxation or for an elderly or infirm client, such as hospice patients.
It can be given as a full body massage or as part as requested by client. This partial massage can be offered as many of the elderly do not like to remove all their clothing. A massage of arms and hands as well as lower legs and feet can be very therapeutic and comforting. Light massage to shoulders and neck can be done through clothing.

No requirement to remove clothing. Head, neck, shoulders and upper back can be massaged with good effect.
This massage is good for people who don’t have time or the ability to remove their clothing. Such as office environments.
It is not as smooth or deep as a massage with oils on the skin, however I can assist in reliving tension in the muscles with kneading and the use of pressure point therapy.
REFLEXOLOGY / ZONE THERAPY
Reflexology is a technique to apply pressure to specific reflex points on the feel and hands to release blockages in the energy flow of the body. This release encourages the body to heal itself and can alleviate some ailments.
All the points of the body which correspond to the organs and other areas of the body, are included in the treatment of 60 minutes.
Kneading with a thumb or finger on the soft fleshy ball of the foot, gentle pulls on the toes and massage around the heel, arch of the foot and the ankle are a few of the techniques you will experience during the treatment.
A full consultation prior to the treatment is required and essential for the therapist to understand your health history and current status as well as define issue that are being experienced. You will receive feed back after the treatment with suggestions to improve your general health.
