🧬 🔬 Today's CRESCO guest lecture was presented by Dr. Sebastian Leidel, Professor of Cellular RNA Biochemistry at the University of Bern. 🧬

His presentation "RNA Modifications and the Two Sides of the Coin in Health, Disease, and Development" enhanced our understanding of the essential roles that tRNA modifications play in mRNA translation and cellular stress responses.

We appreciate the opportunity to learn from Dr. Leidel’s extensive expertise and look forward to future collaborations and discussions!

🔬✨ As part of our CRESCO guest lecture series, we had the privilege of hosting Dr. Marcus Buschbeck, who delivered an insightful talk on "Mining the Chromatin Regulatory Space for Drug Targets in Myeloid Malignancies".💊💡

Dr. Buschbeck shed light on the intriguing reasons behind the differing synergistic effects of commonly used chemotherapy drugs when combined with other treatments.

His research aims to identify urgently needed new combinatorial drug targets and to expedite preclinical development, thereby enhancing the rate and durability of patient responses and improving their quality of life.

A huge thank you to Dr. Buschbeck for sharing his expertise!

This week Yanjiao Li and centre Director Arne Klungland had a visit from Veksthuset for verdiskaping – UiO Growth House, represented by Beate Rygg Johnsen and Ellen Johanne Kleveland.
They got a tour of our premises and learned about Yanjiao Li s new project "Innovative Technology for Identification and Detection of Cancer Markers" that he was granted NOK 400,000 in funding from The Rector's Office.
UiO Growth House is ready to support this project going forward with the test and development phase!
