The Top 10 Abstracts of the 14th International Seminar of the European Palliative Care Research Centre (PRC) and accompanying editorial have now published online ahead-of-print in Current Opinion in Supportive & Palliative Care. Norway’s first professor in palliative medicine is appointed a Knight 1st class of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav. His Majesty the King has appointed Professor Emeritus Stein Kaasa as Knight First Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav.
Kaasa is a specialist in oncology and, in 1993, became Norway’s first professor in palliative medicine. Throughout his career, across various levels of the healthcare system, he has worked purposefully and based on evidence to promote patient-centered care both nationally and internationally.
The official presentation will take place on Wednesday, 17 September at 3:00 PM, during the international seminar hosted by the European Palliative Care Research Centre. Venue: Scandic Helsfyr, Oslo. The ceremony is open to the public.

Recently, the article “MyPath: The Roadmap to Implementing Patient-Centred Care” was published in Academia Oncology. The publication outlines the methodology used in the MyPath project to integrate patient-centred care into routine cancer treatment and support services.

MyPath, funded by the EU Horizon Programme and one of PRCs largest projects, is now in its third year.
