Namal Knowledge City: An Inspiration—- A Dream

vision

The inspiration that led to the founding of Namal College in 2008 was sparked by the admiration that Imran Khan has with Pakistani youth. To him the future stakeholders of Pakistan are a kaleidoscope of talent & hard work and it is with them that hope for a brighter future resides.It is a dream that has been actualized by its visionary members who are associated with world class institutions like LUMS, SKMT and the University of Bradford UK. This ambitious project was undertaken to provide educational facilities of international standards to talented youth of rural areas to trigger social and economic change through the academic evolution of backward regions of Pakistan. Vision and Mission Statement:

• Finding innovative solutions to rural challenges by highly trained academics

NKC is designed to integrate education with employability to enable talented youth become economically useful and socially robust citizens of Pakistan. It aims at providing a distinct learning experience for professional and intellectual development in an enabling academic environment.The objective is to equip students with necessary academic knowledge and requisite professional skills by establishing a collaborative framework of public as well as private partnerships. Namal Education Foundation and Namal College are working on developing strategic links with both academic institutions and industry to foster a culture of collaboration between industry and the academia. The idea is to celebrate the interaction of creative, technical and entrepreneurial talent on a common platform to nurture a culture of research and innovativeness.Through the collaboration of university researchers and companies it is hoped that important milestones may be achieved specific to the industrial requirements.

Namal University was delighted to host Umar Akhtar, Class of 2018, currently serving as an Electrical Engineer at Procter and Gamble London, during his recent visit to Pakistan. As an elected Batch Representative of the Namal Alumni Association, he was formally awarded the Alumni Executive Pin, a token he missed receiving at the oath-taking ceremony. His visit highlights the growing strength of Namal’s global alumni network and our continued commitment to nurturing meaningful connections beyond borders.

The Closing Ceremony marked the end of an incredible journey filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful connections.

Graced by the presence of Rector Dr. M. Najam ul Islam, proud parents, dedicated instructors, and esteemed Namal faculty, the event celebrated not just the end of a program but the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and growth.

As we part ways, we carry with us the memories, the lessons, and the friendships that made this experience truly unforgettable.

Namal University is organizing a Summer School on Indigenous and Secure Chip Design for National Progress, taking place on 23rd and 24th August 2025 at Namal University, Mianwali.

This initiative focuses on addressing local challenges through open-source hardware and software tools. Participants will explore hands-on chip design approaches for national needs, with sessions supporting project ideation, collaboration, and sustainable development goals.

The program encourages innovation by empowering students, researchers, and professionals to build chip design solutions by Pakistan for Pakistan.

Namal Summer School 2025 – Orientation Session

The inaugural session of Namal Summer School 2025 was held on July 14, 2025, officially marking the beginning of the program.

The session was graced by Mr. Asif Malik (Registrar, Namal University) and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf (Director, Nisar Aziz Agritech Center).
It was conducted by Dr. Mudassir Jatala (Program Coordinator) and Mr. Zaka ur Rehman (Deputy Coordinator), with enthusiastic participation from all mentors.

We are proud to share that Dr. Muhammad Yousaf Awan, Assistant Professor at Namal University Mianwali, has recently published his latest book, "مطالعہ بال جبریل" (published July 2025).

Through this outstanding scholarly effort, a hidden treasure of Iqbal’s poetry, previously preserved in personal diaries, has now come to light.

Namal University Mianwali successfully conducted the Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) 2025!

This milestone review was conducted in accordance with the revised Quality Assurance Framework (PSG 2023) to assess and enhance institutional quality standards.

We were honored to host Mr. Furqan Ali, Director QEC at the University of Sialkot, as an expert and external member of the RIPE Review Committee. His valuable insights and expertise greatly enriched the entire process.

The review included a series of interactive sessions, where Mr. Furqan Ali engaged with the QEC team, Directors, HoDs, Administrative Heads, Faculty members, and students — fostering a collaborative approach toward institutional performance enhancement.

These sessions reflect our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement, in alignment with the vision and mission of Namal University.
