Dear Friends

You are warmly invited to join us for a Full Moon Meditation, inspired by a beautiful and powerful outline created by Roberto Assagioli. JOIN US: MAY 31, 8 PM, CET.

This meditation was designed by Assagioli to help unite and strengthen the connection among all Psychosynthesis practitioners and groups worldwide. Each stage includes a short pause for reflection and silence, keeping the flow gentle, brief, and dynamic.

By meditating together, we offer a service to the spirit and vision of Psychosynthesis – connecting with its soul, envisioning its presence in the world, and inviting new collaborators to join in the mission of synthesis and wholeness.

We’ll meditate for about 20–30 minutes, followed by a chance to share impressions and insights in a spirit of openness and mutual inspiration.

We look forward to connecting with you under the full moon.

You can read these two articles, which explain Assagioli's understanding of the full moon and its significance for meditation.

TRANSPERSONAL PSYCHOLOGY IN THE CONSULTING ROOM

What does it actually mean to bring transpersonal psychology into the consulting room?

In a new article on kennethsorensen.dk, (based on a video) Anja Bjørlo and I work through the practical questions a Psychosynthesis therapist faces every day: How do you hold space for the soul in a public clinical setting where the word "transpersonal" has become politically sensitive?

How do you distinguish between a client who needs help building a stable ego and one whose depression is actually the pressure of the transpersonal will pushing through?

We cover the three types of presenting problems, the discipline of bifocal vision, the growing wave of clients arriving in the wake of psychedelic experiences, and the seven ways the superconscious finds expression in human life — through the leader, the teacher, the thinker, the artist, the scientist, the devotee, and the organiser alike.

A central thread: the long, honest battle between the ego will and the transpersonal will in ambitious clients who have eaten enough at the ego's table and are ready for something more.

PSYCHOSYNTHESIS AS A LIVING PSYCHOLOGY: A CONVERSATION WITH SARA VATORE

I recently had the pleasure of joining Sara Vatore in her Wisdom Keepers podcast series for a wide-ranging conversation about psychosynthesis, self-mastery, and the inner work of genuine transformation.

Sara brought warmth and depth to our exchange, and the conversation moved naturally through some of the territory I find most essential in psychosynthesis: the structure of the psyche as a practical inner map, the distinction between personal and transpersonal will, and what it actually means to grow — not in dramatic leaps, but in the quiet, consistent courage of expanding just a little, every single day.

We explored how psychosynthesis functions as a living compass on the spiritual path — not a fixed system of techniques, but a dynamic framework that meets the whole person: their conditioning, their fears, their emerging purpose, and the deeper self that persists beneath all of it.

Central to our discussion was the experience of the "I" as a centre of pure awareness and will, distinct from thoughts, emotions, and the roles we play — and what it means to live increasingly from that centre rather than being unconsciously driven by the past.

If you are interested in the intersection of psychological depth and spiritual development, I think you will find this conversation genuinely nourishing.

You can listen on all major podcast platforms. The link is in the comments below.

FACILITATING DEPTH THROUGH PSYCHOSYNTHESIS

I've just returned from London, where I had the privilege of delivering the keynote address at the Sixth Psychosynthesis Coaching Symposium — a gathering beautifully organised by Aubyn Howard and his team.

These events matter. They keep Psychosynthesis alive, relevant, and evolving. I came home genuinely energised by the conversations, the depth of the questions, and the quality of the people in the room.

My keynote was titled:
🔹 Facilitating Depth through Psychosynthesis

Identity, Disidentification, and the Core Self in Coaching Practice

The address explored what it actually means to work at depth with a client — not as a concept, but as a lived practice. I moved through three levels of client identity (surface, authentic, and core), examined how the practitioner's capacity for depth is determined by the client's own level of self-reflection, and shared two extended clinical case studies that illustrate the difference between surface-level problem resolution and genuine transformative work.

At the heart of it all is a simple but demanding question that Assagioli's model makes possible:

💬 "Who is speaking?"

Learning to ask that question — and to hold it with love — may be one of the most powerful tools psychosynthesis offers both coach and client. It reveals the core self as pure awareness, love, and will, and the fluctuating subpersonalities in the background.

This came to light through one of my case studies, a man in a ta**ra environment with a confused sexuality.

I've published the full speech and a selection of slides on my website. If you're curious, the link is in the comments below. 👇

New Article: Nella Ciapetti Assagioli — A Feminist Spirit in Psychosynthesis

In this newly translated article, William Esposito explores the life and contribution of Nella Ciapetti Assagioli, a figure who has largely remained in the background of psychosynthesis history. Far from being only “the wife of Roberto Assagioli,” Nella emerges as a strong, independent, and capable woman who played a vital role in both family life and the broader theosophical and psychosynthetic milieu.

Drawing on biographical sources and historical context, the article highlights her intellectual interests, her involvement in the journal Ultra, and her practical strength as a partner who sustained both a household and a vision over decades.

This is part of a larger effort to bring forward the overlooked figures who contributed to the development of psychosynthesis.

See the link to the full article below.

A biographical essay on Nella Ciapetti Assagioli, exploring her spiritual writings, feminist initiatives, theosophical activity, and her independent role alongside Roberto Assagioli.

COACHING AT DEPTH

Will you join me in London this April?
I’m very happy to say that I’ll be travelling to London on April 10 to speak at the Sixth Psychosynthesis Coaching Symposium — and to reconnect with many dear friends in the psychosynthesis community.

Thank you to Aubyn and all the organisers behind the event; they have created a big opportunity for all of us to connect.

I’ll be coming with my daughter, and I’m genuinely looking forward to a few rich days of meeting, dialogue, and inspiration. It feels exciting to gather with colleagues who care about depth, meaning, and the future of coaching — and who are willing to explore how we might take our work to the next level (or at least stretch into it together 😊).

I’ll certainly give it my very best — and I know the other presenters will too.

Here’s a glimpse of my morning keynote:

Morning Keynote – Kenneth Sørensen
Facilitating Depth through Psychosynthesis

Working with psychosynthesis as a coaching or counselling paradigm gives access to multiple layers of depth, which can be engaged according to a client’s needs, capacity, and life situation. Psychosynthesis both includes and transcends mainstream psychological approaches, while offering perspectives that are truly distinctive — especially in its understanding of essential identity.

In this opening keynote, I’ll explore how the process and practice of synthesis enables us to work flexibly across levels, helping clients strengthen their inner centre so they can meet future challenges with clarity, responsibility, and creative freedom.

I hope to see you there — and to share this space with you in London. Click the link at the bottom for learning more.

Warmly,
Kenneth
