🚀 Exciting News from Global Shapers Oslo!

We are proud to announce the new leadership of our hub! 🎉
Rafael has officially stepped into the role of Curator, and Ahmed will serve as our Vice-Curator for the upcoming term. We are thrilled about this new chapter and excited for the journey ahead under their leadership.

For those who may not know, Global Shapers is an initiative of the World Economic Forum – a network of young people driving dialogue, action, and change. Our mission is to create positive impact at the local level, tackling the most pressing challenges of our time through community-driven projects and collaborations.

We look forward to continuing this mission and making Oslo an even better place to live, work, and thrive. 🌍✨

A couple of weeks ago we had our Nordic & Baltic kick-off meeting, where shapers from the Global Shapers Oslo, Global Shapers Copenhagen, Global Shapers Malmö, Global Shapers Helsinki Hub, Global Shapers Reykjavik, Global shapers Tallinn, Global Shapers Stockholm, Global Shapers Riga!

We welcomed the Tallinn hub, heard all Impact Officers highlight projects running in the hubs and set start to cross-hub collaborations, gave input to the Shapers at the Annual Meeting in Davos and learned more about the retreat in Helsinki on April 11-13.

🌍 Climate Fresking 🌍

Last December, Rafa, Liv, Ahmed, Martin and Amalie from the green project team took part to an online Climate Fresk workshop, one of the most efficient ways to explore and visualize climate issues. We ended up with a better understanding of the impacts of climate change and had the opportunity to share ideas on possible solutions.

This is just the first step in our journey to educate young people on the science and the impact of climate change, as well as encourage open and positive conversation about climate change.

Some highlights from the past months: attending the Climate Reality Leadership training in Rome along with other shapers 🌎

There he got to learn how we can advance practical climate solutions across sectors and create a clean energy future for the continent with former US Vice President Al Gore, thought leaders, scientists, and experts in Rome.

Protecting the Planet is a priority for Global Shapers. Thanks to the generous support of Rosamund Zander and The Climate Reality Project, Global Shapers can attend Climate Reality Leadership Corps Trainings, as well as access hub project ideation support and grant funding to implement practical climate solutions in their city.

The Financial Literacy Educational Book Project, initiated by the Global Shapers Lisbon Hub, aims to close the financial literacy gap through illustrated children’s books. Statistically, only one-third of kids know about saving for retirement or where their money goes when purchasing. Personal finance isn’t yet a primary focus for most youth.

The book, which aims at helping kids from a young age to make better saving decisions, has already reached more than 4000 children in Portugal and been translated into 20 languages. The book “Marie of nøkkelen til å spare” will soon be available in Norway.

🌟 Exciting Beginnings: Kick-Off of the Year with Global Shapers Oslo Hub 🌟

In these past few days, we've had the privilege of getting to know each other, forming connections that will be instrumental in our journey ahead. Our hub is a rich of talents and experiences, and it's this that will propel us towards creating meaningful  .
During our kick-off event, we dove deep into the essence of the Global Shapers Community, understanding its core values and the profound impact it has across the globe. But we didn't stop there. The heart of our hub lies in addressing the pressing challenges that our beloved Oslo community faces.
