A little bit about me.
Orvin Sillé is originally from Curaçao, former Netherlands Antilles, which is part of the Dutch Kingdom but moved to the Netherlands in the early eighties. In the Netherlands he earned his bachelor in physiotherapy and has been working for the past few years as a (assistant) therapist in The Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles, as well as in Norway.
First he started long time ago (the nineties) as a aerobic and fitness instructor but the medical side of training got his attention. So he continued studying rehab training.
After many years of travelling and living in different countries (Holland, England, Spain and back to Curaçao), he decided to study massage therapy in 2006. For two years he worked as a massage therapist and rehab trainer in a clinic in Curacao and here he finally decided (after many years of doubting) to take the big leap and study physiotherapy at an older age (44, can you believe it?).
After graduating in 2012 he made the huge decision to move further north, to the beautiful country Norway. The rest is just history.
"It hasn't always been easy to find my way and sometimes I would find myself in a shallow gutter (even not so long ago), but I must admit that this country has given me the opportunity to practice what I have been dreaming of the last 16 years."
Orvin believes in a healthy body that not only is free of diseases or injuries, but has as well a healthy mind and soul. For this reason Orvin approaches each and every impairment/injury from a holistic point of view. He looks at the whole picture, the different chains and patterns in the body.
The human body does function in different areas, the physical, psychological, emotional, but we must not disregard the social (work) and familiar aspects.
Due to big changes in our western societies many people are leading a sedentary life stile with long hours in front of the computer and laptop, tv and in the car. This does do no good to the physical, mental and emotional well being, causing problems in the neck/shoulder area but also the lower back and hips.
At the same time we must not underestimate the level of mental and emotional stress the many deadlines, higher workloads and long hours at work may cause.
All of the above mentioned, Orvin does bear in mind when doing an assessment before continuing with treatment and/or rehab training.
Treatments may include soft tissue therapy (cross fibre friction, deep tissue massage, trigger point treatment (manual or dry needling)), medical taping, mobilisation, rehab-training (individual or small groups), counselling and support if needed or occupational counselling.
