“In 2022 it started with a small pimple on my son’s cheek. Progressed into what looked like burns all over his body. Three pediatrician visits and misdiagnosed each time. My gut said to go to ER and he ended up in ICU for a week with staph scalded skin syndrome. I’ve never heard of this but I’m telling you, it was absolutely terrible. This was the “burns” after almost a week of healing.”

It started as “just a pimple”…
and turned into skin that looked burned off.

This is Staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome (SSSS) — and it can escalate fast, especially in infants.

What’s actually happening isn’t a burn.

It’s toxin-mediated skin separation.

21 वर्षिय भाई केही दिनदेखी दाहिने कान दुख्ने समस्या लिएर हामिकहॅा आउनुभयो । जॅाच गरेर हेर्दा भाईलाई कान पाक्ने वा कानभित्र कुनै समस्या थिएन । तर जाचॅ गर्दा भाइले दाहिने आखॅा बन्द गर्न सक्नुभएन , दाहिने निधार खुम्चाउन सक्नुभएन , दाहिने मुखको भाग तल झरेजस्तो थियो , दाहिने आखॅा सुक्का भएको थियो भने देब्रे तिर सबै ठिक थियो ।

यो case लाई Bell’s Palsy वा Facial nerve palsy भनिन्छ जुन अनुहार चलाउने सातौँ मस्तिष्क नसा (facial nerve) मा अचानक हुने Swelling वा असामान्य दबावबाट हुने कमजोरी हो, जसले अनुहारको एक भाग अचल वा ढलेझैँ देखाउन सक्छ। अनुहारको एक छेउ अचानक कमजोर हुन्छ जसका लक्ष्यणहरू आँखा बन्द गर्न नसक्ने, स्माइल गर्न गाह्रो हुने , लार Saliva चुहिने, आँखामा सुख्खा वा बढी पानी आउने , स्वाद गुम्ने, कानमा संवेदनशीलता बढ्ने , टाउको दुख्ने, कान पछाडि दुख्ने वा अनुहारमा झट्का वा numbness महसुस हुने हुन् ।

सुरु भएको 72 घण्टाभित्र चेकजॅाच गरि उपचार गर्दा लक्ष्यण कम हुन्छ र निको हुने सम्भावना बढ्छ । अधिकांशले 2–3 हप्ताभित्र सुधार महसुस गर्छन् भने पूर्ण रूपमा ४ - ६ महिनाभित्र निको हुन सक्छ ।

१९ वर्षिय बिहनीलाई केही समयदेखी टाउकोको कपाल patch मा (कुनै एउटा निश्चित ठाउॅमा ) झर्दै आइरहेको रहेछ र कपाल झरेर त्यो ठाउमा तालु नै देखिसकेको रहेछ । टाउकोको सॅगै आखाको परेला र शरिरको गुप्तागंको रौ पनि झरेको थियो । धेरै ठाउबाट Medicine र shampoo ल्याएर लगाउदा पनि ठिक नभएपछि हामीसॅग आउनुभयो ।

यो समस्यालाई Alopecia Areata भनिन्छ जसमा शरीरका विभिन्न ठाउॅमा रौंहरू झरी Bald हुने अर्थात् तालु पर्ने समस्या हुने गर्दछ । हामिले रोग पत्ता लगाई उहालाई 1 cycle of Steriod Injection लगाइयो र २ हप्तामा Follow up मा बोलाइयो । 2 हप्ता पछि Follow up मा आउदा कपाल धेरै आइसकेको थियो । अहिले उहाको कपाल झर्न बन्द हुनुका साथै नयॅा कपाल पनि आइराखेको छ ।
