Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) was established in 1997 to provide the highest standard of medical education and hospital services. Ltd in the year 2000 A.D.

The college, with more than 23 years of relentless efforts, has developed a strong foundation in terms of infrastructure and human resources to operate as one of the best medical college in the country. KMC was managed initially by Charity International Nepal (CIN) and was handed over to Kathmandu Medical College Pvt. (19th Baishakh 2057). In the year 2009 A.D. (8th Shrawan 2066) Company was changed to a public limited company. KMC operates from two exclusive complexes:
1. Sinamangal, Kathmandu: Teaching Hospital
2. Duwakot, Bhaktapur: Basic Sciences Complex, Dental College, Nursing colleges and Duwakot Hospital. Kathmandu Medical College has its own Teaching Hospital based in Sinamangal, Kathmandu and Duwakot, Bhaktapur with 750 beds respectively. Out of these 750 beds, 10% are free beds, where patients receive free bed, free food, free basic investigation & free Surgery. It is patient friendly with well-equipped by renowned doctors and latest equipments along with super specialties services. KMCTH have kept citizen charter board with the details of service and its cost along with department /person to be conducted as and when required at appropriate patients friendly places. It has also kept the suggestions boxes to collect the public view on its services with the aim to improve on suggested area.
