Think Before You Take a Painkiller!
Did you know that even one dose of a painkiller can harm your kidneys?
In Nepal, it’s common for people to self-medicate. A little pain? Head straight to the pharmacy and take over-the-counter medicine, no questions asked. While alcohol, in small amounts, might be less harmful to your heart, but painkillers can do real damage to your kidneys, even with a single tablet.
Most patients don’t realize they’re at risk. There are no strict regulations, and people often skip asking doctors about side effects. But for those with underlying conditions or unknown kidney issues, painkillers can silently worsen their kidney health.
If you or your loved ones frequently take painkillers, consider this a wake-up call.
Get your kidney function tested, even if there are no visible symptoms.
