"Care, share and grow together"- a common quote I have often heard through my parents and a motto very close to them.

Some glimpses of Mental Health Awareness sessions with staffs of The Australian Embassy, Kathmandu and Shramik Sanjal
It gives me hope when organizations advocate for mental health at workplace. It has been wonderful experience working with the organizations. Designing and organizing one-day and three-day workshops for the enthusiastic participants was a learning experience for me as well.

Read a shared message from someone, don't know how much is it true. But love the message it carried:
THOSE WHO ARE INFLEXIBLE IN MENTAL CAPACITY WILL NOT SURVIVE AND THRIVE!

Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this 'we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost'. During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this 'we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost'.
Upon saying that, all his management team, himself included, teared sadly.

Nokia has been a respectable company. They didn’t do anything wrong in their business, however, the world changed too fast. Their opponents were too powerful.
They missed out on learning, they missed out on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big.

Not only did they miss the opportunity to earn big money, they lost their chance of survival.
The message of this story is, if you don’t change, you shall be removed from the competition.
It’s not wrong if you don’t want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time, you will be eliminated.

Conclusion:

1. The advantage you have yesterday, will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow.

2. You don’t have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail.

3. To change and improve yourself is giving yourself a second chance.

4. To be forced by others to change, is like being discarded.

5. Those who refuse to learn & improve, will definitely one day become redundant & not relevant to the industry.

They will learn the lesson in a hard & expensive way. ALWAYS IMPROVE YOUR SELF!

What a wonderful way to start 2025!
Thank you Kanti Children's Hospital कान्ति बाल अस्पताल and Cwin Nepal for this wonderful opportunity to share my knowledge and experience on " Stress Management for Health Care Professionals". Wonderful to share stage with Dr. Dipesh Bhattarai.

Stress Management techniques are life saving skills. Everyone including health professionals need to learn and practise . Glad that organizations, such as hospitals, are prioritizing mental health at workplace and organizing such mental health awareness programs.

10/10/2024

Oct, 10 is celebrated worldwide as
World Mental Health Day.

"Mental Health at Work" is the theme of the Mental Health Day 2024. As we focus on the relationship between our workplace and our mental health, let us not forget that our home is where we start and end our days. Our home is also our workplace!

Let's focus on mental health in our homes! Those unpaid responsibilities in homes often go unappreciated leaving both men and women vulnerable to loneliness, low self esteem, psychological distress and mental health disorders. Further, gender discrimination exists in households among majority of population globally.

In Nepal, as ongoing Dashain festival coincides with world mental health day, let us equally enjoy the festival sharing household responsibilities and taking care of one another's mental health. After all, it is what family is for🎉 Happy Bijaya Dashami as well!

Mother...
As much as we love them, let us prioritize their health. Let us not praise them being a multitasker; rather let us be their helping hands.

How common is substance use in Nepal?

Unfortunately, addiction is still considered as a bad behavior by many. But the fact is, it is a mental disorder with biological and psychological vulnerabilities in an individual. The societal burden of addiction and the influence of social factors on the person with addiction can not be negated. We need such awareness at grass root levels so that help can be sought at early stages and many lives and families can be saved.
