The Asian Ocean Society of Regional anesthesia and Pain Medicine (AOSRA-PM) is pleased to declare the availability of education fellowships that will be granted to support training in regional anesthesia practice for applicants without access to similar training in their home country. Applicants are vetted by a subcommittee of the AOSRA-PM using the following criteria:
1. Member of AOSRA-PM.
2. Applicants with a minimum of 2 years in anesthesia core medical training (e.g. faculty in regional anesthesia, anesthesia or pain management) are preferred.
3. Intent to return to their country after the period of fellowship.
4. There are no age limits
5. Preference for applicants from countries with high demand of educational need for RA, and for low socioeconomic income countries as per World Bank Classification.
AOSRA-PM Fellowship program are categorized into three forms:
1) Observership: currently available in 6 countries (India, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Iran, Bangladesh). 1-3 months duration. Strict observership only. Some centres may provide a small stipend to the applicant to cover accommodation and meals
2) Scholarship: Sponsored by AOSRA-PM, 2 applicants per year, up to $USD2,500 per person funded.
3) 6-12 month fellowship: Fully funded, available currently at GANGA hospital, Coimbatore, India.
