Buddha Jayanti (also called Buddha Purnima) is one of the most important festivals in Buddhism. It commemorates three major events in the life of Lord Buddha:

1. Birth – Siddhartha Gautama was born in Lumbini, Nepal.
2. Enlightenment – He attained enlightenment (became Buddha) under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya.
3. Mahaparinirvana – He passed away in Kushinagar.

All three are believed to have occurred on the same full moon day (Purnima) of the month of Baishakh (April–May).

🌼 Significance

Buddha Jayanti symbolizes:

* Peace and non-violence
* Compassion and kindness
* Wisdom and self-realization

Lord Buddha taught the Middle Path, avoiding extremes, and emphasized the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path as a way to end suffering.

🕊️ How it is celebrated

* People visit monasteries and stupas (like Lumbini and Swayambhunath in Nepal)
* Offer prayers, flowers, and butter lamps
* Chant Buddhist scriptures
* Perform acts of charity and kindness
* Release birds as a symbol of freedom and compassion

My friend Mr. Krishan Murari Mishra’s (his 76-year-old mother), one of the first women to speak English in Bara and a teacher of the English language there, she has successfully undergone surgery. She came for follow-up looking fit and in good condition.

Nepal दक्षिण एसियामा अवस्थित सानो तर अत्यन्तै विविधतायुक्त देश हो। यो India सँग दक्षिण, पूर्व र पश्चिमतिर जोडिएको छ भने उत्तरतिर China सँग सिमाना जोडिएको छ।

भूगोल:
नेपाल Himalayas का लागि प्रसिद्ध छ, जहाँ Mount Everest (सगरमाथा) संसारकै सबैभन्दा अग्लो हिमाल अवस्थित छ। नेपाललाई मुख्यतः तीन भागमा विभाजन गरिएको छ:

* हिमाली क्षेत्र
* पहाडी क्षेत्र
* तराई क्षेत्र

राजधानी र प्रमुख शहरहरू:
नेपालको राजधानी Kathmandu हो, जहाँ धेरै ऐतिहासिक मन्दिर र सांस्कृतिक सम्पदा छन्। अन्य प्रमुख शहरहरूमा Pokhara (पर्यटनका लागि प्रसिद्ध) र Birgunj (व्यापारिक केन्द्र) पर्दछन्।

संस्कृति र धर्म:
नेपाल बहुजातीय र बहुसांस्कृतिक देश हो। Gautama Buddha को जन्मस्थल Lumbini नेपालमै पर्दछ। यहाँ हिन्दू र बौद्ध धर्म मुख्य रूपमा मानिन्छन्। दशैं र तिहार जस्ता चाडपर्वहरू धुमधामका साथ मनाइन्छन्।

भाषा:
नेपालको सरकारी भाषा नेपाली हो, तर विभिन्न जाति र समुदायका कारण अन्य धेरै भाषाहरू पनि बोलिन्छन्।

सरकार र इतिहास:
नेपाल पहिले राजतन्त्रात्मक देश थियो, तर Nepalese Civil War पछि सन् २००८ मा संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्रमा परिणत भयो। अहिले राष्ट्रप्रमुख राष्ट्रपति र सरकार प्रमुख प्रधानमन्त्री हुन्छन्।

अर्थतन्त्र:
नेपालको अर्थतन्त्र मुख्य रूपमा कृषि, पर्यटन र वैदेशिक रोजगारीबाट आउने रेमिटेन्समा आधारित छ। पर्यटन क्षेत्रमा ट्रेकिङ, हिमाल आरोहण र सांस्कृतिक सम्पदाले महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका खेल्छ।

नेपालको विशेषता:

* संसारकै अग्ला हिमालहरूको देश
* समृद्ध संस्कृति र परम्परा
* हिन्दू र बौद्ध धर्मको सुन्दर समिश्रण
* प्राकृतिक सौन्दर्यले भरिपूर्ण देश
