What to say instead? Send this to a parent who needs it!

Saying- “Calm down! Its not a big deal.”
Instead say: “I see you’re really upset. Let’s figure this out together.”

Saying- “If you don’t stop, you’ll be in big trouble!” Instead say: “I’m here to help you. Let’s take a deep breath together.”

Saying- “Why can’t you be like your sister?” Instead say: “Everyone has different ways of dealing with things. Let’s work on this together.”

Saying- “Oh great, another tantrum!” Instead: “I know this is tough. Let’s find a way to feel better.”

Saying- “if you think about it, there’s no reason to be upset.”
Instead: “It’s okay to feel upset. Let’s talk about what’s bothering you.”

Or sometimes not saying anything at all helps too. Just making them feel your presence. Validating their emotions and letting the meltdown pass is beneficial.

Your calm presence helps them learn to manage their emotions. Be the calm in their storm.

Quality sleep is essential for mental clarity, emotional balance, and physical health. If you are struggling to get sound sleep, try out these simple ways of sleep management.

✅ Quality sheets and blankets can enhance your sleep environment.

✅ Avoid working or watching TV in bed to strengthen the mental association between bed and sleep.

✅ While alcohol might make you drowsy, it can disrupt your sleep cycle.

✅ Reduce exposure to blue light from phones and computers an hour before sleep.

✅ Try to sleep in a quiet space, avoid noisy setting.
-Scents like lavender can have a calming effect and promote better sleep.

✅ Use dim, warm lighting in the evening to signal to your body that it’s time to wind down.
