In 2015, the Government of Nepal, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), launched Youth Vision 2025, a ten-year strategic plan aligned with the National Youth Policy 2015, which defines youth as individuals aged 16–40, over 40% of the population.
Centred on unity, equity, justice, harmony, and inclusion, the plan aims to address challenges such as unemployment, limited access to education, lack of entrepreneurial opportunities, and underrepresentation in leadership. It also aligns with national priorities and global frameworks like the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognising youth as key drivers of economic progress.
To mark this year's International Youth Day, the British Council and the National Youth Council jointly recorded a panel discussion on 'Youth Vision 2035: Opportunities, challenges and the way forward.
This discussion aims to contribute towards shaping Nepal's Youth Vision 2035, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and priorities, and emphasising the role of youth institutions, development partners, and young people in policy formulation and implementation.
