Here are five major causes of paralysis:

Stroke (Cerebrovascular Accident) – Sudden interruption of blood supply to the brain or bleeding in the brain damages nerve cells, leading to paralysis on one side of the body (hemiplegia).

Spinal Cord Injury – Trauma from accidents, falls, or violence can damage the spinal cord, resulting in partial or complete paralysis (paraplegia or quadriplegia).

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) – An autoimmune disease that damages the protective covering of nerves (myelin sheath), disrupting signals between brain and body, leading to weakness and paralysis.

Neurological Diseases (e.g., ALS, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, Poliomyelitis) – These disorders damage nerves or muscles, causing progressive paralysis.

Brain or Spinal Tumors – Growth of tumors can compress nerves or brain tissue, leading to loss of movement in affected areas.
