भरतपुरकी श्रीमती अधिकारीले शरीरको बायाँ भागमा झनझनाहट हुने समस्या महसुस गर्नुभयो । उपचार निमिक्त उहाँको परिवारले उहाँलाई उपेन्द्र देवकोटा मेमोरियल न्युरो अस्पताल, बाँसबारीको ओपीडी विभागमा ल्याउनुभयो ।

Upendra Devkota Memorial National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences (UDM-NINAS) successfully conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on “Acute Stroke Management for Nurses” for the nursing staff at Sahid Gangalal National Heart Center.

Dr. Pratyush Shrestha, Consultant Neurosurgeon, delivered an engaging and insightful presentation tailored to nursing professionals, focusing on practical and evidence-based approaches to stroke care. The session helped strengthen their knowledge, contributing to enhance excellence in patient management.

46-year-old Mrs. Maharjan from Chitwan experienced slurred speech and left side drooping of her face. Without delay her family brought her to the Emergency of Upendra Devkota Memorial Neuro Hospital, Bansbari, within 4 hours of golden window.

The doctor’s team diagnosed her with acute ischemic stroke and successfully performed thrombolysis dissolving blood clots in her brain. Post-treatment, her condition began to improve as she made a remarkable recovery.

The top 26 finalists of Miss Nepal 2025 visited Neuro Hospital, Bansbari in collaboration with Upendra Devkota Foundation for an educational session on ‘Brain and Spine Health, presented by Dr. Sagar Koirala. This visit also included an orientation of the hospital, facilitated by Dr. Pratyush shrestha.
The aim of this initiative was to raise awareness on UDFs campaign, & , particularly among young individuals.
This endeavor reflects the commitment of UDF to foster community outreach towards the youth, supporting them to make informed decisions about their well-being.

Upendra Devkota Foundation in collaboration with Upendra Devkota Memorial National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences (UDM-NINAS) Neuro Hospital, Bansbari with the support of Kathmandu Netralaya successfully carried out another free screening for pre primary, and lower secondary students at our neighboring IRA school.

The screening was led by Consultant ENT Surgeon Dr. Sangya Paudel and Consultant Paediatric Neurologist Dr. Asim Shrestha.

The screening focused on common visual, ear nose and throat as well as behavioral and neurological issues that may thwart the full growth and developmental potential of the children and help in timely institution of corrective measures.

A 22-year-old, young female patient was referred to the Emergency of Upendra Devkota Memorial Neuro Hospital, Bansbari, with complaints of severe headache and vomiting.

MRI scan and a DSA confirmed ruptured brain aneurysm resulting in bleeding within her brain. Our expert team performed stent assisted coiling in our bi-plane cath lab, successfully sealing the aneurysm and preventing further bleeding.
The treatment went smoothly, and the patient is recovering well without complications.

A 45-year-old female was brought to the Emergency of Upendra Devkota Memorial Neuro Hospital after she began experiencing weakness in her upper limbs. Upon arrival, doctors noticed she had slurred speech and a deviation of her face to the left — urgent signs of a stroke.
An MRI further confirmed the diagnosis. The doctor’s team performed a mechanical thrombectomy in our Bi-Plane Cath Lab, successfully removing the clot and restoring blood flow to the affected area of her brain.
Thanks to the quick action of our medical team of UDM-NINAS, she is steadily recovering her health without any further complications.
