From the heart of our classrooms to the hopes of our communities ,our team is on the ground delivering mental health literacy in schools, supported by Nepal Risingand Letters to Strangers.
In Nepal, 1 out of every 5 children and adolescents is estimated to face a mental health concern, yet more than 90% never receive any kind of support or treatment. Su***de remains the leading cause of death among young people in Nepal.
In rural communities, where stigma is stronger and professional services are often hours away, the school becomes the only safe space a child consistently has. Many children grow up without access to counsellors, psychosocial support or even basic mental health information. By embedding mental health support directly in schools, we reach the very heart of the community. It allows students to seek help early, teachers to respond with compassion, and families to be engaged in conversations that rarely happen at home. In places where resources are scarce, schools become the frontline of mental health care — and that’s exactly where this movement begins.
This is more than a program. it’s a movement. A movement to make mental health services accessible, sustainable, and embedded in every school. Because every child deserves to understand their mind, feel safe to speak, and have someone who will listen. Mental health is not a privilege it’s a right.
